Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - Chimney Wallstop Dominates Reverse Speed Battles

Time flies! Just completed the 45th brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

  • Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

  • Staying In Bronze Fray

For this brawl, I decided to stick to what I fought in the last fray, which was Fray 6, which was 3/2/2/1. I felt I was starting to find my grove and this fray is neither too difficult nor too easy for me.

Had 5 battles this time and it was not an easy round. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days. Miraculously, I did great this round and I was so proud of my teams!

  • We Got 4th

So for the final result, we got 4th out of 10 guilds and got 538 Merits and around 9 SPS! It's below average for us as we were let down by some members failing to submit their teams.

Individually, I had 5 fights this time and I won 4 of them. I couldn't repeat my 100% wins from the last brawl but finished 2nd within my guild!

Let's jump into the battles!

Battle 1 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

An interesting battle between Water/Magic against Life/Ranged lineups. My summoner proved to be irrelevant and the opposing team had some difficulty hitting Djinn Oshannus as he was at 5 Speed. Once again, the Legendary Djinn Oshannus held the tank position firmly and led the team to victory.

Battle 2 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Chimney Wallstop

This was as close as one could get to a free win. For a 99 mana battle, my opponent fielded only 37 mana while my lineup had 56 mana. Moreover, with Return Fire, my opponent's Ranged cards were doomed too. Decided to award the MVP to the card that dealt the most damage and that's Sand Worm!

Battle 3 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: None

There was really nothing much I could do for 15 mana battle when my opponent had Quora Towershead (whereas I didn't have her). Well, moving onto the next battle!

Battle 4 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Witch Of Warwick

I had to stretch my imagination for this one because of the battle modifiers. Melee Mayhem screamed Trapp Falloway but Reverse Speed put him at a disadvantage and 26 mana meant the chance of Cursed Windeku and Thorns featuring would be quite high. In the end, I ditched the Melee Mayhem and went for a predominantly Magic lineup with Life Leech paid off. It turned out to be a battle between both our Gladius cards as they both turned into monsters but Life Leech put my Witch Of Warwick in a much stronger position. An exciting and close battle and Witch Of Warwick snatched this vital win!

Battle 5 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Chimney Wallstop

My Level 1 team was severely lacking in this battle as my opponent put up a max team. Fortunately, Disintegrator's Demoralise was very important in reducing their damage output and Chimney Wallstop got lucky with several Bloodlust and was able to overcome this tough team. Big win in this one!

So that sums up my 5 battles for this brawl! 80% win rate - ruined by Quora Towershead! Really happy with this performance!

What I like todo is to put Chimney and Grum in those reverse speed sets if there is enough mana, it becomes crazy!
