Many people think that those who work in the music industry earn serious money, but according to a study, almost half of those who work in the music industry are struggling to make ends meet.

The Musicians’ Census, a project created by the Musicians’ Union and charity Help Musicians in the United Kingdom, also found that almost half of musicians struggle with equipment and transport costs. These statistics are from a new census of nearly 6,000 working musicians.

The research also found that 46 per cent of working musicians earn less than £14,000 a year.

Considering the average annual minimum wage in the UK, the research shows that 46% of working musicians in the UK earn well below the minimum wage.

Frankly, this research surprised me because I thought musicians working in the music industry earned a lot of money.

After doing a quick search on the web, I read that musicians, not just in the UK but in many other countries, are struggling with similar difficulties. After this research, I realized that we do not value musicians enough, I think we should support more those working in the music industry, I think most of them deserve it.
