Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - Winning 100 SPS From Reward Card Contest!

Before I begin this post, here's a shout out to some big news in Splinterlands!

First up, new Reward cards and new abilities are coming! You can read more about them here.

Personally I feel that it makes the game more complicated given that we already have so many abilities currently. While the seasoned players might find it more exciting to battle with these new abilities, having too much abilities might be confusing for new players, especially when we are trying onboard more new players to the game. But who knows, maybe I am wrong on this.

Alright, let's get back to my brawl post!

Time flies! Just completed the 153rd brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

  • Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

  • Moving Back To Bronze Fray

For this brawl, I made the decision to move back to a Bronze level fray, which is where my cards are at. It proved to a good decision but I was back to winning form!

Had 4 battles this time and it was not an easy round, especially when they have recently introduced 3 rulesets for each battle. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

  • We Got 4th!!

So for the final result, we were 4th out of 9 guilds and got 431 Merits and around 16 SPS! A whole bag of SPS! Decent finish! We definitely punched above our weight for this one! Let's hope we continue to maintain this good momentum for the coming brawls!

Individually, I had 5 fights this time and I won 3 of them this time! Finished 4th within the guild. Due to change in format, wins are actually awarded to the players present in the fray if guilds decided to skip the fray. For this round, there were 3 additional wins for me.

Let's jump into the battles!

Battle 1 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: None

This was a battle that I should have won but poor performances happen. Was badly hit by the opposing Magic damage and my Repair and Ranged damage just didn't work out.

Battle 2 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Palidon Rakk

What a bad start to the brawl. The Earthquake ruleset was challenging because only Fire and Earth elements were allowed. Fighting against the opposing Quora Towershead was just impossible when she had self heal. Most of the cards from both sides were similar and I believe that was the difference.

Battle 3 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Chimney Wallstop and Orella Abadon

Lots of scary and new cards in my opponent's lineup - but my conventional lineup fought hard and did extremely well to secure this win. Chimney Wallstop was able to get Bloodlust going and in the end, we didn't even need Forgotten One to do anything to get this win. Well done!

Battle 4 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Witch Of Warwick

Wow what a messy fight! Both teams went for Venari Marksrat in the second position to trigger Martyr via Blast, but I had an extra Resurrection thanks to Astral Entity. It was enough for Witch Of Warwick to take down everyone all by herself eventually.

Opponent fled! Yay!

So that sums up my 5 battles for this brawl! 60% win rate this time round! Will strive to do better next round!

The Merits are coming in fast and I have enough Merits for my 63rd Gladius case! Nothing to see here, just the minimum set of the cards. Oh well.
