Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - Brawls Are Getting Competitive!

Time flies! Just completed the 161st brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

  • Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

  • Moving Back To Bronze Fray

For this brawl, I made the decision to move back to a Bronze level fray, which is where my cards are at. It proved to a good decision but I was back to winning form!

Had 7 battles this time and it was not an easy round, especially when they have recently introduced 3 rulesets for each battle. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

  • We Got 6th!!

So for the final result, we were 6th out of 9 guilds and got 377 Merits and around 11 SPS! A whole bag of SPS! Decent finish but was let down my participation as well. Sometimes I wonder how many people are playing Splinterlands these days.

Individually, I had 7 fights this time and I only won 4 of them this time! Finished 5th within the guild. Due to change in format, wins are actually awarded to the players present in the fray if guilds decided to skip the fray. For this round, there was 1 additional wins for me.

Let's jump into the battles!

Battle 1 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Gorth and Chimney Wallstop

Awful start to the brawl! Somehow my Fire Melee lineup just didn't have enough to overcome my opponent's cards. Either the opposing Grum was too powerful or probably my team was too squishy.

Battle 2 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Alfredo

Another dreadful performance again. I didn't field a Gladius card and my opponent did, and that made all the difference. I need to reflect badly because this is so unlike my usual performance.

Battle 3 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Flagulon Reine

2 cards vs 6 cards. I definitely couldn't lose here. Fortunately having a Legendary Gladius card helped and it was an easy win here. Phew!

Battle 4 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Witch Of Warwick

Having Astral Entity as the summoner always makes me feel more confident, and with the competitive fights these days, Legendary summoners are almost a must have. Both team's Gladius cards chalked up all the Bloodlust and it was down to 1 vs 1 in the end, it was my Witch Of Warwick that won the final duel.

Battle 5 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Trapp Falloway

Little League battles call for Trapp Falloway and indeed, this was a perfect win with all my cards firing their hits. Weaken is indeed a good ability over here.

Battle 6 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Relenor Cleaver and Flagulon Reine

Once again, my Water lineup were being run over badly again. The newer cards seemed to be stronger these days and it was kinda surprisingly that a relatively strong lineup with the likes of 3 Legendary cards, were just not enough.

Battle 7 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

It was an Earthquake battle, I fielded 3 Flying cards and my opponent fielded none. Of course the winner had to be me. Hehe! First feature for Redwyrm Dragon and Helheim Demon's Taunt ability came in very handy here too.

So that sums up my 7 battles for this brawl! 57% win rate this time round! Argh, not my usual standard at all. Seems like brawls are getting competitive these days!

The Merits are coming in fast and I have enough Merits for my 65th Gladius case! Nothing to see here, just the minimum set of the cards. Oh well.
