Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - Amazing Debut From Flagulon Reine!

Time flies! Just completed the 151st brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

  • Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

  • Moving Back To Bronze Fray

For this brawl, I made the decision to move back to a Bronze level fray, which is where my cards are at. It proved to a good decision but I was back to winning form!

Had 2 battles this time and it was not an easy round, especially when they have recently introduced 3 rulesets for each battle. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

  • We Got 8th!!

So for the final result, we were 8th out of 10 guilds and got 377 Merits and around 11 SPS! A whole bag of SPS! Decent finish!

Individually, I had 5 fights this time and I won all 4 of them this time! Finished 2nd within the guild. Due to change in format, wins are actually awarded to the players present in the fray if guilds decided to skip the fray. For this round, there were 4 additional wins for me.

Let's jump into the battles!

Battle 1 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Flagulon Reine and Larissa Kerato

What a fantastic debut by Flagulon Reine! I recently obtained this Gladius card and was eager to try it out! With both Legendary Gladius cards in play, it was enough to overcome the Legendary Djinn Oshannus on the opposite and the Blast from Flagulon Reine was extremely useful in getting rid of the backline.

Battle 2 - WIN

Opponent fled! Yay!

Battle 3 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Larissa Kerato

Legendary Gladius cards really provide a strong advantage for Guild Brawls. Larissa Kerato showed her powers with Double Strike and the Bloodlust was crucial in overcome the win as both sides raced against time to take down each other.

Battle 4 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Kotriphus Bayne and Trapp Falloway

I was unable to overcome the opposing Quora Towershead in this battle where she could do two attacks. I thought I fielded a lineup that was decent enough but was just unfortunate that things didn't click as I expected.

Battle 5 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Gorth and Chimney Wallstop

It has been ages since I used the Gorth and Chimney Wallstop combination because there wasn't a suitable battle to use this strategy. Then this ruleset appeared and I decided to give it a shot. Both cards did superbly well and got the win easily!

MVP: Chimney Wallstop

So that sums up my 5 battles for this brawl! 80% win rate this time round! Pretty good!

Review Of Gladius Cards

Since I am able to use Gladius cards now, I thought I should review selected cards that helped me win in the brawls. This week's feature is none other than Flagulon Reine! Of course, please let me know if you have any tips in using these cards too as I am keen to learn and improve too!

CARD: FLAGULON REINE
ELEMENT: WATER
RARITY: LEGENDARY
ABILITY: BLAST, BLOODLUST

After more than 150 brawls, I finally got another Legendary Gladius card and Flagulon Reine initially reminded me of Riverboat Captain but it's not really the case. His HP is much stronger at 6 and the Blast ability makes it much easier to obtain Bloodlust, and if lucky, up to 2 Bloodlusts in one round. With 1 Bloodlust, that's potentially 5 Magic damage (3+2) per round already. Definitely worthy of its Legendary status. Looking forward to more winning battles with this card!
