I honestly don't know. Is it even possible to remove bots? Maybe it would be better to add a built-in bot so all players can have access to it, regardless of operating system and technical skills.

As for the bot issue, I think you need to define healthier in this context. I think the game could become more fun for humans, but could have far fewer players as well. Having gotten to where it did changing it is going to have consequences and which way is more healthy depends on how you want to look at it.
