Zig While Others Zag — My Conclave Arcana Strategy Ties Into Land!
Next week’s gonna be wild.
April 22nd. Mark it. That’s when the Conclave Arcana presale kicks off and I’m seriously pumped. If you read my previous post, you already know I’ve got my plan locked in—with 800k to 900k HBD ready to go. But like the OG @infidel1258 said in one of his videos:
"Zig while others zag."
And I’m fully onboard with that energy.
While many are diving headfirst into the Arcana packs, I’m also shifting focus... toward land. And trust me, this isn’t a detour—it’s part of the bigger picture.
The Real Reason I'm Bullish on Arcana
Yes, I’m hyped for the cards. Yes, I’m ready to rip open packs. And YES, black foil cards have me dreaming at night.
But what really lights me up is this:
Land is finally starting to interact with the game.
It’s small, it’s just the beginning, but it’s huge in terms of direction.
With Conclave Arcana, we’re getting our first land:
Introducing the Midnight Potion—a craftable item that boosts your odds of getting a black foil when opening Arcana packs.
You’ll need to build an Aura Building (worksite) to make them. That building? Needs a Permit (purchased with research points, then consumed when used). After that, you’re crafting away, spending production points to make potions.
Base resource costs:
- 0.005 Wood
- 0.002 Stone
- 0.0005 Iron
…per 1 base Production Point spent per hour.
Just like a research building, but with shiny results.
And just look at that Midnight Potion design:
Beautiful. Stylish. Full of promise.
So What Am I Doing?
I bought more land.
Yeah, I know, it still needs to be cleared. I won’t be able to work all of it right away, but I’m slowly expanding. Step by step.
I’ve been collecting since the early days of land. While I have a decent setup now, I’m still a minnow compared to the big land whales. And that brings me to a point I really hope the Splinterlands team is considering:
Make this fun for everyone.
Whether someone owns 50 plots or just 1, we all want to participate. The Aura Building shouldn’t be locked behind a massive grind or unreachable costs.
We need that balance where:
- Whales aren’t done in a day
- But minnows don’t feel like they need to farm for a year just to have a shot
Some folks have 10 million+ research points. I have ~30k. Others might have just a few thousand. There’s gotta be a path for all of us. A challenge for the team 😁
Why I’m Bullish (Not Just Arcana)
Now you know why I’m bullish—and it’s not just for Conclave Arcana. I’m excited about the whole game, and especially land.
For those of you following me for a while, you already know I’ve been busy building a tool to help manage and view land in all kinds of ways. I seriously can’t wait to release the next update—it’s getting close...

Must that is always on my mind... i like a lot in splinterlands and spreading to thin might be a concern... eventual keep on growing and what is thin becomes thicker over time, if that makes sense 🤣

Super cool and again I had really no idea of that this was in the making for the Arena. Indeed with just a couple of hundred research points here mined from earlier phases I was jsut waiting to see what to do with them, but now.... Yeah cool there is an upcoming reason that land and the intital card game are working with each other.

Yeah its getting better every splinterlands release... Land is just started, with the plans they shared it can be a very nice addition to the game or a game on itself.

Nice legendary plot! 😍 If you have one, you might want to consider making it magical — I believe they get a 100% production boost from the potion. I'm not 100% sure where I heard that, though.
Yes, I just saw a sneak peak from cryptomancer, and it showed a 100% boost for both research and for aura, on a magical plot; so yeah definitely going to repurpose one of those instead.
I'm with you on land, putting €50 in every month to buy land with, I can't start it up yet but at least I'll own it!
I run two accounts, do you think it's better if I spread the lands between them to get the 5% reward boost on my second account as well or are there other reasons to think about just to keep it on one account?
IMHO if you play both account it can be wise to spread. I made the decision to focus on one account. Both of my alt accounts are now turned off...
I find it easier to manage one, for me its more fun, else it became another balance act. And land is already challenging to manage in the future i think.
Valid strategy with the 50$ a month steady increase exactly what i did of the time span of 3 years (every month 100$ and sometimes a bit more 🤣).
