Custom Roms

I wish i had known more about flashing & custom roms when I purchased my Chromecast with google TV, because i would have flashed it out of the gate vs updating it with stock firmware and now being locked out... but i've kind of rectified that by using FLauncher as default launch screen & disabling all the google junk manually via ADB, so it's not half bad. Sideloading apps is a breeze too (play store on CCwGTV is mega-limited). The device works pretty well & i dont have to deal with any googletv changes unless I want them . I use a Moto G7 with Crdroid 10 (custom ROM), I buy a Xiome compatible with Crdroid and see the magic, the Motorola G7 is old, even so it runs perfectly on Crdroid 10 which is based on Android 14, whereas officially the Motorola G7 stopped at Android 10, and ran badly. Qualcomm is known for being open source, reason why there are Always custom roms for that while on mediatek even if its faster its harder to get custom rom (actually mediatek is way more powerful than snapdragon, at least this year but mediatek is closed source and not optimizable so snapdragon feels faster while it isnt) Xiaomi cell phones are the most compatible with these modifications even "officially", there are others besides crdroid for example havocOS and pixel experience.
