The Journey of a Hivean - Games on Hive
Introduction
Over time, and through my years on Hive, I have come to discover that there is a whole lot that can be done on the blockchain aside from writing, and this entire realm includes gaming. There are numerous games built on the Hive blockchain with the Play-to-Earn (P2E) system put in place, and that is what I will cover in this article. This post can serve as a guide on how to get started with games on Hive.
The three (3) games I will be looking at:
- Splinterlands - A card collectible game
- dCity - A game where players build their online virtual economy through the skill of managing resources.
- Rising Star - A game where players can grow their online virtual musical career
What I will focus on
- What the game is all about
- How to get started with these games.
- Creating an account if you don't already have one, thanks to your Hive account.
- Some helpful tips while playing the games
- How to join the game's community to connect with other gamers.
Important to know
These games are only a few out of the numerous games on the Hive blockchain. It is okay not to like a particular game or even like one game more than the other, but the most important thing is to play and have fun while playing. The procedures or entry level for these games are quite simple, and for some games, they are free to play until you want to buy some in-game items to give you a playing edge over other players.
Splinterlands
Splinterlands is a collectible card-playing game where players get to trade, buy, or rent cards. The game is focused on battle strategy against other players, where you make use of cards consisting of a summoner and monsters to fight. It is strategy first, as what card you choose and why you chose such a card are important. You select the cards you want based on your strategy, then the AI decides the moves.
The play-to-earn feature of the game comes in through wins from ranked matches and free or paid tournaments. Through your win, you get DEC (Dark Energy Crystal), which can be used for in-game purchases, and you get SPS (Splintershards) through staking and winning ranked matches. SPS is used in the governance of the game Splinterlands. Other ways to earn from playing the game include:
- Daily wins of at least 2 to 5 battles
- Joining a guild for team rewards.
The game has card types and rarity levels, which are
Card Types
- Summoners
- Monsters
Rarity Level
- Common
- Rare
- Epic
- Legendary
Each card is made up of speed, armour, mana cost, and attack type. All together, this helps to determine the mana cost required for each card, as there is a mana cost for each battle. This means if a battle has a mana cost requirement of 25, you can only use cards that sum up to 25 or less than 25 for the battle. Creating an account for Splinterland is quite easy, but sometimes it is not needed if you already have a blockchain account with Hive. This is because Splinterlands is built on the Hive blockchain; therefore, an account on Hive means an account on Splinterlands. Nevertheless, if you do not have a Hive account, you can still play the Splinterlands game. Simply do this: Also, if you do not want to create a password because you might forget it, you can bypass the create password process by authorizing with a Wombat, Coinbase, or MetaMask wallet. Here is a video on how to play splinterlands on mobile

Creating an account if you don't already have one
Some helpful tips while playing the games
- Focus on your summoner card. This card helps to bring out the potential of your monster cards. So, spend more time upgrading or selecting a good summoner.
- Although when you sign up or get started for the first time on Splinterlands, you get a free pack containing cards you can use to play free matches, if you want to play ranked matches or tournaments, you should consider buying more cards or renting them. For starters, focus on renting specific cards that can be instrumental in your battle strategy.
- Play some free matches to see if you would like to continue playing the game before investing in cards.
- Join the Splinterlands community on Hive to get updates, other players' progress, and more helpful tips from more experienced players.
- You can learn from what top players on the leaderboard are doing and use the deck they are using as well.
- Join the Discord community as well and stay connected with tons of other players.
How to join the game's community to connect with other gamers.
Joining the Splinterlands community is quite easy. Simply search for Splinterlands under communities on the Hive blockchain. When you find it, subscribe and engage with the community by reading posts, commenting, and responding to people's replies to your post.
Also on the Splinterlands website, you can scroll to the bottom of the page, and you will see their social media handles, pick which one you would like to follow, and if you want to follow all, that is fine.
For more info on getting started with Splinterlands and purchasing cards, I recommend you check out Splinterlands | Low-Risk New Player Guide! (~100$)
And you can join the Splinterland community
dCity
This is another play-to-earn game where players manage the economy of their city. They are in charge of what happens financially to their city through their governing activities, ranging from income, taxes, and even down to war profits. Players can also buy and trade digital assets for the growth of their city's economy.
The cards traded are NFT-based building businesses and resources, and earnings can be earned in the Hive token of the game's token DCOIN. The game is basically a blockchain version of SimCity, where instead you get to earn tokens for playing. All you need to get started is a Hive account, a browser, and an internet connection. The game requires strategy as it involves helping other players, knowing when to help and when not to help, and preparing your city against events that may have a positive or negative effect. To get started on dCity, For dCity, signing in with your Hive account and keychain is the only way to access the game on a system. So, if you do not have a Hive keychain extension, I recommend you download it from hive-keychain.com For mobile devices, all you need is your Hive username to log in to dCity. With dCity, your hive account is your dCity account. All you need is a Hive account, and you can use your Hive username to log in. To connect with other dCity players, you can check out the dCity community on Hive, dCity Hive Community At the bottom of the dCity website, you can click on the dCity Discord Server link to join their Discord channel for more updates and helpful tips from experienced dCity players. Here is another play-to-earn game, but this time it is focused on the life of a musician and their rise to fame. You get to earn tokens, that is the Hive token and the game token Starbits, by playing, completing tasks, working on your talent, and upgrading your skill. On the launch of the website, you are welcomed immediately with music, which tells you that it is a music gaming website. The song is kind of rock or something of that class, but I am not quite sure. When you check it out, you should find out. This one is for the musicians and not only them, but the music lovers and fanatics as well. If you ever wanted to know what the career of a musician feels like, I guess this is the game for you. Mind you, the songs keep playing; after one finishes, the next one begins. For a moment, I forgot I wanted to play the game as I began to vibe to the nice jams, especially the song Conspiracy. It is also important to know that this game comes with certain features that make it unique to play. They include: More so, earning by playing the game takes place when you To get started with Rising Star is as simple as long as you have a Hive account. With Rising Star, you cannot create an account. Only your Hive account can be used as a means of logging in. Here are some helpful tips to get you started with your journey in Starbit. To connect with other Rising Star players, you can check out the Rising Star community on Hive. Also, do not forget to subscribe to the community to get recent updates and engage with other dCity gamers by engaging with their post. At the top of the Rising Star website, you will see the icon for the Discord server. Click on it, and the link automatically leads you to Discord, where you can join their channel for more updates and helpful tips from experienced dCity players.
Aside from these games, there are other games on Hive with their respective communities such as: What is this post? A Wake-Up Call: Accountability and Redemption in the Hive Ecosystem
To those who believe their actions on the Hive blockchain go unnoticed, it’s time to confront the truth. The power you think you wield through downvotes, vote farming, and manipulation is an illusion. True strength lies in doing what’s right, not in exploiting systems for personal gain or silencing others out of fear.
1. The Illusion of Power Through Exploitation
If you’re downvoting critics, running coordinated farms, or hoarding influence to control rewards, ask yourself: What does this say about your character? Manipulating Hive’s reward system doesn’t make you powerful—it exposes vulnerabilities. It shows a reliance on unethical tactics to feel significant in a space that was meant to empower everyone equally.
But here’s the reality: these actions won’t bring lasting satisfaction. At night, when you’re alone with your thoughts, do you truly believe what you’re doing is right? Regret has a way of lingering, and no amount of HIVE tokens can silence the voice inside telling you there’s a better path.
2. The Ripple Effect of Your Actions
Your choices don’t just harm Hive—they affect the people around you. Your online friends may follow along now, but loyalty built on shaky foundations crumbles quickly. And what about your family? Do they understand how much energy you pour into behaviors that ultimately hurt others and yourself?
Every action has consequences, and the deeper you dig, the harder it becomes to climb out. You’re not just harming Hive—you’re pulling those close to you into a cycle of negativity and regret. Is it worth it?
3. Change Before It’s Too Late
The Bilpcoin team isn’t here to attack individuals—we’re here to spark change. We’ve seen the evidence, and we know the impact of manipulative practices. But we also believe in redemption. There’s still time to step back, reflect, and choose a different path.
Ask yourself:
Hive deserves better. So do you.
4. Strength Lies in Doing What’s Right
Real power comes from integrity, not manipulation. Instead of focusing on how many tokens you can farm or how many users you can silence, consider how you can add value to the ecosystem. Create meaningful content, support genuine contributors, and advocate for reforms that benefit everyone—not just a select few.
If you continue down your current path, remember this: you are being watched. Many stay silent, but they see everything. Blockchain data doesn’t lie, and accountability always comes knocking—whether today, tomorrow, or years from now.
5. A Final Plea: Fix What Needs Fixing
It’s never too late to change course. Stop the farming, stop the toxicity, and start contributing to Hive in ways that uplift rather than tear down. If you’re struggling with why you’ve chosen this path, take a moment to reflect. Seek help if needed—there’s no shame in admitting you’ve lost your way.
The Hive community is watching, waiting, and hoping for positive change. Will you rise to the occasion, or will you let regret define your journey? The choice is yours.
From the Bilpcoin Team: We’re committed to helping Hive thrive by exposing the truth and fostering transparency. Let’s work together to build a stronger, fairer ecosystem—one where everyone has a chance to succeed.
What will your next move be?
Addressing the Downvote Issue on Hive: It’s Time for Real Change
Marky Mark Stop the manipulation game Lady Zaza Bpc AI Music
Let’s cut through the noise and address one of the most pressing issues holding Hive back from reaching its full potential: abusive downvotes. The Bipcoin team has consistently exposed the systemic problems that stifle growth on this platform, yet little to no action has been taken. If Hive is to thrive, we must confront these challenges head-on instead of engaging in empty discussions that lead nowhere.
Hive cannot grow if nothing changes. How can new users and smaller creators flourish when they are constantly suppressed by those who exploit the system? Many so-called “whales” contribute nothing meaningful to the ecosystem—instead, they focus solely on farming rewards through manipulative tactics like mass self-voting, spam content, or coordinated downvoting campaigns. These actions discourage genuine participation and erode trust within the community.
Blockchain transactions don’t lie. We’ve seen firsthand the shady methods used to game the system—whether it’s creating alt accounts to amplify votes, orchestrating downvote brigades, or hoarding influence without giving back to the network. Why does this behavior continue unchecked? Talk is cheap. Actions speak louder than words, and until concrete steps are taken to address these abuses, Hive will struggle to move forward.
We have repeatedly presented evidence of these practices, not to divide but to demand accountability. The truth is out there for anyone willing to look at the data. Yet, despite our efforts, the cycle persists. Today, we’re asking again: Can we finally talk about the real issues plaguing Hive? And more importantly, can we take decisive action to protect the integrity of this platform?
Do not let bullies destroy what makes Hive special. Abuse of power through downvotes and manipulation harms everyone—creators, curators, and the community as a whole. It’s time to fight back against these toxic practices and create an environment where all voices can be heard and rewarded fairly.
The Bipcoin team remains committed to exposing the truth and advocating for meaningful change. But we can’t do it alone. Together, let’s push for solutions that ensure Hive becomes a place of opportunity, fairness, and growth—for everyone.
Enough talk. Let’s see action.
