Seven Years on Hive! & Interest from Big Crypto Players

I just got notification from @hivebuzz that I've been on Hive for 7 years!

It has been an amazing journey.

I have met lots of amazing people and become part of a community that is unique not just in Crypto but in the world. Hive is my literary home.

Earlier this week I was at a Crypto Mondays Event organised by @yabapmatt's mate Lou Kerner in Tel Aviv and I was telling people about Hive, @splinterlands & @podping.

People were quite amazed about what Hive can do and most know very little about it, although some knew about Splinterlands.

But one guy with a big crypto PR firm asked to meet me to learn more about Hive. His firm had done a successful campaign for Splinterlands back in the boom years. @aggroed has a nice testimonial on his company's website.

I met him yesterday (at his office across the street from my home) and he was super impressed about the genuine decentralisation, the story of the fork from the legacy chain and the ability of Hive to provide decentralised central notifications (like @podping) for everything from livestreamers (providing platform portability) to AI agents.

He was also taken by the community & IRL aspects of Hive embodied by HiveFest.

Anyway he wants to talk to some Hive whales about doing a DHF funded PR campaign to let developers (particularly outside crypto) know what Hive can do for them. He has run a successful DAO funded campaign for Polygon as well as campaigns for big names like Binance.

So @brianoflondon and I will be following up on this.

Congratulations on your seventh year on Hive!

I think that knowing where we have been, makes us happier about where we are.

I know some are sad about the Hive price and the general condition of altcoins, but I think it "thins the herd" to only the builders and diehard supporters, so it makes me smile.

I am sure you have seen many "fair weather friends" come and go from Hive during your seven years here.

But some like you persist and believe in the community and feel it ultimately will rise again.

I agree.

This contact you made sounds very encouraging and is yet another sign of life here on Hive, and the potential that others will discover it's wonders and advanced technology.

Hive does not need to achieve mass user adoption to be successful.

It has sufficient dedicated and widely spread community and talented people.
This is what "proof of brain" was originally about.

I feel that it is already successful and that a small, committed community is better than a large one of "fair weather friends".

Regarding Hive's price: adoption of this blockchain by developer, especially outside crypto as a secure, decentralised, permissionless database with unique abilities (like decentralised central notifications ie @podping) is what will ultimately drive up the Hive price.
