In this space I will be giving away STARBITS, sharing my experience with a song, telling how I discovered it, and providing interesting information about it. Then I will include several tables with statistics of the Rising Star game.

After I finished going through the hundred songs provided by Spotify that I listened to the most in the last year, I have thought of adding songs of my choice from my "Like" list that has more than 1000 songs. The last song I talked about in my last post was: Mo Money Mo Problems: The Notorious B.I.G

My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is No te creas tan importante of the argentine group Damas Gratis.

Damas Gratis is one of the most famous cumbia groups in Argentina. Despite having a few years of activity, in recent years they have continued to release good songs and “No te creas tan importante”, “Me vas a extrañar” and “Costumbres” is an example of this. No matter where the band goes, I can assure you that it will always be packed with people.

As I have told in my previous “You will miss me” post. I met the band in my senior years of high school. I was never much for going out to discos or anything, because I don't like the music that is usually played in them. However, I have been invited to several graduation parties and have always had a pretty good time. Generally, the graduates pool money together to hire the show of a well-known band. The most common ones are Los Palmeras and Damas Gratis.

In one of the graduation parties I attended, they had hired the successful band Damas Gratis. It was on that occasion when I heard their first songs and, to my surprise, despite the music I used to listen to back then, I liked them.

I think the highlight of their most recent songs is the participation of an artist named Viru Kumbierón, who has a very nice voice. Accompanied by the characteristic keyboard of Pablo Lescano, achieving a very good combination.

Nowadays, I still listen to the band from time to time. I have a playlist on Spotify with cumbia songs.
