Celebrating Hive Power Up Day and October’s Meaningful Moments

It's great to be back posting for Hive Power Up Day once again. I've come to realize that sharing my thoughts and experiences here is much more rewarding than posting on traditional social media platforms. Unlike Web2 sites where likes and reactions often don’t translate into real value, posting here allows me to engage with a meaningful community and actually earn rewards for my contributions.

Before I share this month's Power Up, let me take you on a journey through my October memories. Join me as I walk down this nostalgic lane, reflecting on the moments that shaped my month and set the stage for what's to come.

October’s Meaningful Moments

• Tremors and Volcanic Eruptions

There have been numerous natural calamities affecting various parts of the country, and recently, two major events struck near where my family and I live. These disasters have posed significant challenges and serve as a powerful reminder of the critical importance of preparedness. Volcanic activity across the country has also been on the rise lately, reminding us the need for heightened vigilance in the face of these growing geological threats.

As part of my preparations, I have started readying my Go Bag. Recent tremors affected nearly every region, with many people speaking about the possibility of "The Big One" — a major earthquake that could have widespread impact. It is crucial to take proactive steps now rather than wait until a disaster strikes, risking being caught unprepared.

In the recent news, the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (DOST-Phivolcs) said that the Negros Trench could cause a very large earthquake, with a magnitude of 8.2.

Beauty's Birthday

Despite the regular tremors and constant alerts about volcanic activities around us, we joyfully came together to celebrate Beauty's birthday. She is truly the most beautiful person I have ever known, both inside and out. Her beauty radiates not only through her graceful appearance but also through the kindness and warmth that her name embodies. It is a rare and precious brightness that touches the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Nanay's Death Anniversary

October always brings a complex blend of emotions for me. It is a time when I remember Nanay on her death anniversary, feeling both the weight of loss and the warmth of cherished memories.

And just like that, my October has come to an end—a month filled with moments that touched my heart deeply. It was a time of reflection, remembrance, and celebration all wrapped into one. As I close this chapter, I carry with me the memories that shaped it and look forward to what lies ahead.

My Hive Power Up Day and the Quest for HPUM

Within just one month, I was able to accumulate approximately 40 Hive. Out of this, I powered up 10 Hive to strengthen my stake in the platform. I also plan to support two of my friends by powering up 10 Hive Power each for them, helping them grow their presence as well. The remaining 10 Hive will be converted into $SPS tokens to gameplay in Splinterlands.

I was truly determined to earn my first HPUM badge, but unfortunately, I fell just short of achieving it. I got stuck on one of my tasks, and by the time I remembered the HPUM challenge, an entire day had already passed. Despite this setback, I remain hopeful and motivated to reach this goal within the month.

All Saints Day

November 1 marks All Saints Day, a meaningful tradition in our family. On this day, we prepare special food made from sticky rice and eat together as a family. I want to share with you the dish I prepared today. It's called Valenciana, a flavorful and colorful rice delicacy that brings warmth and joy to our gathering.
