Holland goes in lockdown again! I guess they want to kill their economy…

I thought COVID policies couldn’t get worse than in Belgium

Belgium is a hellhole, at least, according to Donald Trump. He once aid this in 2015 when Belgium was in threat of terrorist attacks of ISIS. I laughed that away back then, but the last two years have proven him right. We are a hellhole led by moronic politicians that have no clue what they are doing. But apparently, it can be worse!
In The Netherlands the so called experts could convince the government to lock down again. Pubs, bars, restaurants, cinemas, theatres and non-essential shops need to close again until January 14th! People can only invite 4 other people in their homes… All because of a variant of the Corona virus that is so mild, most don’t even get a fever when they catch it!

Final blow for a lot of businesses

After two years of jojo policy, this is the final blow for maybe thousands of small businesses. The compensation for needing to close down is completely inadequate and will bring bankruptcy all over the country. I am baffled by so much stupidity of the government… I can only hope the people won’t take this and protest against this by disobedience on a massive scale. This will be the only way to end it!

To all my Dutch friends I say, don’t give up, disobey and take it to the streets! This is completely unacceptable…

Sincerely,

Pele23

completely insane, With max 2 people now you can come together outside. I have yet to see that happen. No fireworks for 2 years. And a cabinet that resigns and after 9 months will rule again with the same people. I live in a strange country

If this doesn’t end in riots, then what will?

If the people don't comply there's no lockdown. If everyone would continue life normally, the restaurant owners not closing or asking for covid passes and the individuals living as if these wouldn't exist these shitheads wouldn't have that power. It's the fault of the masses.

Absolute madness as this is setting countries back decades in lost revenue. I feel for the businesses as I know exactly what this means for so many. We are heading in the opposite way as hospitals are emptier than ever.

@pele23, what is the attitude of the citizens of Belgium (let's say in %) towards the vaccines and the policies about the pandemics?

p.s. I am just curious about it because I see that Eurostat publishes regularly stats on this topic regarding the EU countries. I just want to see/hear info from the average person instead of Eurostat.

It is completely twisted here, because of the media some people are completely brainwashed and follow all the rules and demands like a slave, but more and more people have had enough of it. I could not put percentages on it, I think it’s 50/50…

I don't think the COVID policies will really do anything. If anything, I think most people are thinking that the disease won't ever go away with all the new variants. I do agree with you that the small businesses will be gone soon enough. At least in San Francisco, they had the less than $950 shoplift policy that decimated them. Then when things are bad and the small stores are out of business, they want the politicians to step in and stop it.

This is really depressing to see happen and what's even more sad is that lockdowns don't seem to be working at all. I mean how many more variants of the Wuhan virus will we see? I know for a fact that many people are starting to get really hurt by these measures and starting to rise in various ways.

I was planning on visit in April but that looks like a pipe-dream for now. I guess I'll be spending my money in Romania now unless things change.
