A Ruined Day

Not so long ago, I was upset when something serious happened to one of my friends as a result of a nonchalant habit.

I have a friend whose husband is working in a reputable company. She always talked about how her husband always bought her things, and if one is not careful, one would fall for her countless words. Although her words were true, I don't seem to have the kind of heart that can make me ask my husband to buy me things just like my friend.

One day, she came with her new phone. It was an iPhone, to be specific. She said her husband bought it for her about four days ago. I was envious, but only to a certain extent. I was also happy for her. Meanwhile, she doesn't know how to operate it. I had to put her through on how to operate the iPhone. She was happy after that day. I discovered that the iPhone was a used phone and an old phone. I told her, but she seemed to argue with me. I just let her be.

Two weeks later, one of our friends was having a birthday party, and this lady, Mummy Dammy, promised our friend that she was going to take photographs with her iPhone since the pictures taken by iPhones are always clearer than the type of Android phone my friend had. We all agreed, but then I warned her not to take all of the pictures. She disagreed, saying her iPhone was a perfect phone. I also told our friend, who was celebrating her birthday, to search for an alternative, but she was sure of Mummy Dammy's iPhone. I just kept mute, waiting for the real deal to happen. When it was the celebration day, she came around. Although it was a small, arranged party with some important people. She doesn't want anyone to make her birthday party dull so as not to get enough gifts from her guests. She asked our first friend, Mummy Dammy, if she was sure of her phone's camera, but she was so sure of herself. I was just watching from a distance, trying to wait for the unexpected to happen.

The party started, and she turned her phone on. She took the first photo, and it was so sharp and clear. The celebration was going on fine, and she was smiling while taking the photographs. After a moment, there was a sad look on Mummy Dammy's face. The look that shows that something was going extremely wrong. I saw that look on her face and asked her what the problem was. She said everything was fine and gave out a fake smile. I was still doubting her look, but then I ignored it.

Some minutes later, our girlfriend came out dressed in finely made attire. She put on a nice pink gown with a beautiful smile emanating from her face. Her dressing and beauty can make you spend all the money you have as a guy.

Mummy Dammy turned her iPhone to take some pictures, and then there was this feeling that something was going wrong with her face. She struggled to press the phone keys, but they were not working. She looked at me at first and called me to one corner. Meanwhile, the celebrant must use these pictures to make thousands of dollars on her Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube pages. Not just the photos, but videos.

Mummy Dammy's iPhone keys had gone to sleep. The phone buttons were not working, and there was nowhere to press in order to take the pictures. The celebrant observed something and called my attention. I wanted to lie, but then I couldn't, so as not to ruin her party that is about to be ruined. She lamented bitterly, and even the money she would have made from those pictures would be enough to purchase her a good iPhone more powerful than Mummy Dammy's fake phone.

Time was not on her side as people started behaving in a way that was not palatable. They wanted to take pictures with the celebrant, but how would they do that with an ordinary Android phone? She was not ready to allow anyone to take her picture except for Mummy Dammy, but now she had ruined her day.

After a few minutes, what I heard from my friend, the celebrant, was, "Mummy Dammy, please leave my party. You have destroyed my plans. Leave at once." I tried to beg her and even tried to tell her to use my Android phone to take those pictures, but she was not herself.

A few minutes later, she formed a fake smile and looked around to see if she could send for a photographer, but the time was short, and the day was becoming dark. Her party was ruined, and indeed, what must go wrong must go wrong. The phone that I had seen did not fit had ruined the party.

A dead iPhone and a ruined party. Everything definitely went wrong, and you couldn't earn the promised money. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. That's life.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us.

Good day.
