Hello there! @saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!

With the new Frontier Mode and the recent change in the Survival Mode getting most of the attention, it seems that it flew off many people's radar that the Yaba's Pickle Arcane Event has been happening for more than 10 days now. This event started on July 29th, 7 days after the general sale had ended. Unlike the general sale, which has an SPS requirement and limits the number of cards that can be purchased, there will be no limit on the number of cards you can buy in the Arcane event. But instead of DEC or Credits, the only way to purchase cards during the Arcane event is through Fortune Ticket, which is an item that you need to craft by using 200 AURA, 10 Vouchers, and spending 200 DEC where the DEC was equally split between the Company and DAO.

Indeed, the price for the Arcane Event was way higher than the general sale for getting the same card. However, all the Fortune Tickets spent on the event will be used to draw winners of the limited edition Gold Foil Arcane Yaba's Pickle, where only 50 cards will be minted, with 1 given every 24 hours. And now, let us take a look at the first 10 players that got their hands on the card and how many tickets they used.

Gold Foil Arcane Event Mint #41-50 Winners

The event has been going on for more than 11 days now, so we already have winners for mint #40, but I only worked up to mint #41 since it was kind of a late post. So clayboyn will have to wait for his turn. The way that the cards are minted starts from the highest number (#50) all the way down to the lowest (#1), where the lower the mint number, makes it more valuable, and certainly some players may have refrained from the raffle in order to wait for when the the card that has the mint# that they want to be available.

All in all, the first 10 days of the arcane event have used up 5,539 Fortune Tickets, multiplied it by 10 Vouchers per ticket, and we burned a total of 55,390 Vouchers. To break it down more, I have made 3 different graphs to illustrate each data.

Total Fortune Tickets Used For Each Card Mint.

The lowest number of Fortune Tickets used was in mint #47 with only 355 Tickets, followed by mint #48 and #41, while the highest number of Fortune Tickets used was in mint #43, which uses 800 tickets, followed by mint #46 and #685.

Arcane Card Winners and Fortune Tickets They Used.

Meanwhile, when it comes to the least number of tickets used, the luckiest one was @kitschua, who only entered 2 tickets, and it was also the very first mint, followed by @chaoabunga, who used 10 tickets, and @ikeee, who entered 15 tickets. @tomathellama was also really lucky for winning mint #47 and #48 for using only 80 tickets. On the other hand, when it comes to the winners who entered the most number of tickets, we have @cryptovaults, which spent 467 tickets, and @lovingthemoo with 400 tickets, enough to max a regular copy of Yaba's Pickle.

Picture4.png
Total Tickets Entered Vs. Winner Tickets Entered.

As you can see, with the entries the winners entered in mint #46 and #49, they got over a 60% chance to get the Old Foil Arcane card. But for the rest of the cards minted, the highest odds of getting them were only about 10% and for mint #50, it's freaking 0.004%.

Closing

And that's what the status is within the first 10 copies of the Gold Foil Arcane Yaba's pickle. It is likely that as the mint number goes down, the number of tickets used will increase, all the way as it goes down to a 1-digit number. It is also possible that some will refrain from this event in preparation for the Black Foil Arcane Auction, which will only mint 20 copies. Either way, with more Fortune Tickets and Auction Marks being used, the more Vouchers will be removed from circulation. And don't forget, the Arcane event for Tasoshi Drakamoto will also come in 2 days.

That was all for this post. Thank you and see you at the next one!

Was trying to find the time to put a similar post together myself, YouTube videos from gatheringthemagic and aftersound raised similar points and it would be interesting to see where we go with ticket prices and and the burning of vouchers once the pickle draws are over.

But also what happens to fortune draws next, there needs to be continued use for them to encourage ongoing crafting, we only have 29 days of use left at the moment.

I assume the next voucher promo will follow the same format but is that enough of a use case?

Same... Was trying to put this out as soon as we get the result for pickle mint #41, but just don't have much time to spare until today.

Certainly, there needs to be something done to continue to encourage players to craft items. Perhaps if we go to the same route as Hall of Legends and sell a series of cards instead of a mini-set, that may require lots of fortune draws, but at this point, we already have tons of promo cards in modern, so going with that may have some bad implications.

We were able to become voucher deficit under Kelan Gaines, so it is possible, but the next promo card needs to be as good as Kelan. It seems Tasoshi will not cut it out even after the rework.

Let’s see if the big collectors burn plenty of vouchers to make the auction marks..
