Late 2021 we were blessed with this wonderful news that a new play to earn will be added to the list of play to earn we have here on the Hive blockchain. I have had my experience with play to earns and I have decided that I will need to duplicate myself if I want to accomplish everything I need to achieve on the blockchain. I tried focusing on splinterlands but it got overwhelming for me, trying to balance blogging, reading, engaging and onboarding people on Hive was a lot of work. I don’t know what my future commitment towards a play to earn will be like, but right now, I can only invest on it.

So Ragnarok is the new play to earn on the Hive blockchain we are expecting real soon but it’s game play is expected to be quite different from other play to earns we know. It’s supposed to come with a chess like game play, I know the basics of a chess game but going in depth into it scares me. I see lots of people learning chess or knowing the basics to help them have a great Ragnarok experience.

When the name of the game was announced I thought the game was going to be a game of lightning and Thunder, this is because, the only Ragnarok I know is Thor and if you have watched the movie you can tell how thunderous it was. But then, we were made to understand that it’s nothing close to Thunder and lightning. It’s just a chess game play.

The team behind the game’s development is the team behind @3speak and SPK Network. Ragnarok NFTs were promised to all Hive holders(Both in liquid Hive and Hive power) who held their asset before January 6th. Your holdings will determine how much NFTs you will get. This criteria was also merged with the SPK airdrop, the larynx token, killing 2 birds with 1 stone indeed.

We do claim our Larynx token every month and this is our second month, this claim is expected to go on for 12 months, so we have 10 months more to go. But the Ragnarok Claim Token for the Ragnarok NFT will be claimed in a different way. Instead of claiming NFTs you will have to claim a token that represents these NFTs or let’s call them tokens that give you access to claiming the Ragnarok NFTs. These NFTs will be claimable only with the tokens, 1 Ragnarok NFT will be claimable with 112 RCTs. This can only be done at once it won’t be like the larynx claim that is taking 12 months. But you have a 3 months saving Grace to claim these tokens, after 3 months you won’t be able to claim them anymore as they will be going back to the game.
