Hallo liebe Community,
dann war es endlich soweit. Wir hatten uns schon den ganzen Urlaub darauf gefreut. Whalewatching in Monterey. Nachdem unsere gebuchte Tour am Vorabend wegen zu hohem Wellengang abgesagt werden musste, konnten wir an diesem Morgen vom Hafen in Monterey aus starten.
Monterey ist bekannt dafür dort Buckelwale, Grauwale, Blauwale, Delfine und sogar Orcas beobachten zu können.
Wir starteten bei bestem Wetter und fuhren direkt in den Nebel vor der Küste, man konnte die Hand vor Augen nicht mehr sehen. Doch plötzlich waren wir durch den Nebel durch und auf hoher See. Schon nach ein paar Minuten tauchten die ersten Buckelwale vor uns auf. Ein tolles Schauspiel. Wir folgten Ihnen und trafen nach kurzer Zeit auf weitere Buckelwale. Insgesamt sahen wir 6 Stück und verbrachten über eine Stunde mit Ihnen. Einfach herrlich und jeder sollte diese majestätischen Tiere mal gesehen haben. Leider war es uns an diesem Tag nicht vergönnt noch andere Wale oder sogar Orcas zu sehen. Da war ich dann schon etwas traurig, denn die wollte ich unbedingt einmal gesehen haben. Naja eventuell bei unserer nächsten Whalewatching Tour, die bestimmt irgendwann kommen wird.
Auf dem Rückweg ging es wieder durch den Nebel und nach insgesamt 3 Stunden waren wir wieder zurück im Hafen, ohne Seekrank geworden zu sein. Yippieee!
Wir fuhren dann noch zum Lovers Point und beobachteten dort die Vögel und Erdhörchen. Ein wirklich toller Tag der uns allen eine große Freude bereitet hat.

Hello dear community,
then it was finally time. We had been looking forward to it the whole vacation. Whalewatching in Monterey. After our booked tour had to be cancelled the night before because of too high waves, we were able to start this morning from the harbor in Monterey.
Monterey is known to have humpback whales, gray whales, blue whales, dolphins and even orcas.
We started with best weather and drove directly into the fog before the coast, one could not see the hand before eyes any more. But suddenly we were through the fog and on the high seas. Already after a few minutes the first humpback whales appeared in front of us. A great spectacle. We followed them and after a short time we met more humpback whales. In total we saw 6 of them and spent more than an hour with them. Simply wonderful and everyone should have seen these majestic animals. Unfortunately, it was not granted to us on this day to see other whales or even orcas. Since I was then a bit sad, because I really wanted to have seen once. Well, maybe on our next whale watching tour, which will certainly come sometime.
On the way back we went through the fog again and after a total of 3 hours we were back in port without getting seasick. Yippieee!
We then drove to Lovers Point and watched the birds and gophers. A really great day that brought us all a lot of joy.
