"Production" - rfy (hf)
Here are some words that I wrote onto my Tweeterz page this morning:
My art experiments start with a drawing, usually on paper or cardboard, sometimes on my phone or laptop (MS PAINT FOREVER!)... I mostly make 1 of 1, weirdo art. I draw everyday, plus I have a massive backlog (more than 4 decades) of older art I can photograph...
[Continued...]
When you support an artist like me: no "team," no roadmap, no corporate backing, just a guy and a stack of drawings---you're supporting a freak with a pen who is going to draw everyday whether he sells a single piece of artwork ever again or not!
[Cont...]
PLUS!!! The art isn't going to look like a slick, perfect, corporate concocted, generic, pre-fab, could eventually buy it at "WallyWorld dot com" thing that everyone else has. Chances are, YOU are the only person that will own the piece you get from me!
I'm not much of a fan of the "projects" where there is a base image (a frog or monkey or cat or whatever) that has various "props" placed on it by a computer program, so in the end you get 10,000 images that are basically the same thing. I'm not disparaging folks who DO like these images, they just don't appeal to me. I like my artz to look more accidental (?) (in the critical world, it used to be called "painterly" when art has drips and smudges) or hand drawn or... There's something in most of these projects that just bothers me.
I don't know. Maybe I'm just getting old and senile? (Don't follow my advice. I'm almost always broke because I miss the big money projects. I look at them and go, "Why would I pay money for that?" and then a month later, they're worth a thousand bucks each... I'm like an ANTI-get-rich-quick scheme in black pants!)
Speaking of getting rick quick, here's more of that 1 of 1 art that I was banging on about at the beginning of this post:

"Fire" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool) & Felicity Echo Hanson (TT)

[Crayon and felt pen on canvas board with digital embellishments and color.] We are the people in the neighborhood. It's a strange place... ---RFY (HF) & FEH (TT)

"Caloric Intake"

[Crayon, felt pen, and colored pencil on paper with digital embellishments and color.] Primitivism isn't a style of art, it's a way of looking at the materials that ARTZ are made from. I've come to decide that expensive paints and professionally stretched canvases aren't necessary. They aren't even that interesting. If you want to make---just make. Whatever you have at hand BECOMES art, is transmogrified by the mystical hands (and eyes) of the artist. Don't take my word for it...

"Have You Heard the Call?"

[Ink on notebook page with digital embellishments and color.] In the night...THEY call to us. THEY want us to come. THEY want to help. Have you heard the call???

"Distressed Vampire"

[Sculpting dough, googly eyes, and mixed media collage with digital embellishments and drawing.] He saw what happened to the sculpting dough horse that we made...and now he's a bit concerned about his future! (Poor vamp...)

"Noire Lizard"

[Ink on paper, photographed, split into layers, and then transformed into a transparent png file!] This is Harry. He's a noire lizard, a strange glowing creature with rudimentary eyes that barely see anything (just slight distinctions in light levels.) In a bizarre twist of fashion, when brought out of his cave home, his skin appears to be BLACK in sunlight. Makes no sense at all!
[P.S. - If the purchaser wants it, I can email the actual PNG file directly to them, if they want to use this in some Creative Commons art!]

"Penetrate My Heart"

[Red gel pen, crayon, and felt pen on cardstock with digital embellishments and color.] Scene from that one classic horror film. I'm sure you remember it...

"Escaping to the Ship"

[Colored pencil and brush pen on paper with digital embellishments and color.] After having a look around the small town near where Garnax landed his craft, he realized that the inhabitants---all of them---were completely insane, and he RACED (as fast as his legs could carry him) back to his ship and lifted off... (Probably just in time!)

"Never Never No No No No"

[Felt pen, liner pen, and colored pencil on paper with digital embellishments and color.] I don't know what the SMURF this piece is about. I just drew it. It's an experiment in color and monstrosity. My goodness! Perhaps I was simply channeling something that the COSMOS was trying to say! I hope you get it!!!

I'm not sure if you are bizarrely prolific or prolifically bizarre... perhaps both! hahaha Great Artz
Ha! Thanks!
You're welcome =)
You rock! The art scene needs more people like you. Actual, unique art with a heart.
That's the spirit. I can very much relate to you, although I wouldn't go as far as to call myself a freak. Just 'Hypersensitivosaurus' will do.
