Dumacke Orc | Pixel FanArt | Splinterlands Art Contest [ Eng-Esp]

Hello friends from @splinterlands, @alienarthive, and the @hive community in general! It is my pleasure to share a new post with you.

So today, I have taken on the task of creating a new entry in order to participate in the weekly Splinterlands art contest. And the card I have selected for this is called Dumacke Orc.

Así que el día de hoy me he dado a la tarea de crear una nueva entrada con el fin de participar en el concurso de arte semanal de splinterlands. Y la carta que he seleccionado para ello se llama Dumacke Orc

A card with quite emotional and beautiful lore, which I loved very much and for which I will take the time to give you a little summary.

Okay!

Dumacke was a world in the Splinterlands universe that was left in ruins after the legions of chaos took over and bled the planet dry of everything vital. Despite this, some creatures survived, among them the pale orcs, who lived in dark caves in the lowlands, surviving as best they could. After losing their sight to an ancient disease, which was passed down from generation to generation, they developed quite acute hearing, which allowed them to survive.

One day, an old wizard named Yaalbraith gave them a pair of magical glasses called Bright Eyes, which restored their sight. When the wizard left, the orcs were sad and felt abandoned, until one day they met the Rift Guardians, who offered them companionship. In gratitude, the orcs joined their cause and were no longer alone.

Una carta con un lore bastante emotivo y bonito, que me encantó muchísimo y por locual me tomaré el tiempo de darles un pequeño resumen.

Dumacke era un mundo del universo de splinterlands que quedó en ruinas luego que las legiones del caos se apoderarán de el y desangrara al planeta de todo lo vital, pese a esto sobrevivieron algunas criaturas, entre ellas los orcos pálidos, estos vivian en cuevas oscuras en las tierras bajas, sobreviviendo como pudieran y tras perder la vista por una antigua enfermedad, la cual esta fué transmitida de generación en generación, desarrollaron un oido bastante agudo, lo que les permitió parte de su supervivencia.

Un día un viejo mago llamado Yaalbraith les entregó unas gafas mágicas, las cuales eran llamadas Ojos Brillantes y estas les devolvieron la vista. Al marcharse el mago, los orcos quedaron tristes y se sintieron abandonados, hasta que un día conocieron a los vigilantes del Rift, estos les ofrecieron compañía y en agradecimiento los orcos se unieron a su causa y así no estuvieron solos nuevamente.

As for the illustration, I made a mini or chibi orc, so to speak! With a feminine appearance. I found it quite interesting to do it full-body and in my usual pixel art style. In this case, I used a 123x123 pixel canvas, 20 pixels larger than the previous ones.

Taking the features and characteristics of the original character as a reference, I managed to develop a sketch, made in black pixels, trying to add the necessary details according to what the style of the illustration allowed me, in order to achieve a resemblance to the original character.

En cuanto a la ilustración he hecho a un mini o un chibi orco ¡Por decirlo así! Con una apariencia femenina. Me pareció bastante interesante hacerlo de cuerpo completo y al estilo pixel art como acostumbro, en este caso usé un lienzo de 123x123 pixeles respectivamente, 20 pixeles un poco más grande a los anteriores.

Y tomando de referencia los rasgos y características del personaje original, logré desarrollar un boceto, hecho en pixeles de color negro, tratando de agregarle los detalles necesarios de acuerdo a lo que me permitía el estilo de la ilustración, con el fin de lograr el parecido con el personaje original.

For the coloring process, I used the original character's color palette as a reference. Generally speaking, I usually start by applying a base color, then proceed with the shading, and finish with highlights.

I usually do this coloring in parts, starting first with the face and skin in general, so I apply the base color to all exposed skin areas, such as the face, ears, neck, arms, and abdomen.

Para el proceso de coloreado tomé de referencia la paleta de colores del personaje original. Y hablando de manera general, suelo comenzar con la aplicación de una base de color y sobre esta procedo con la aplicación del sombreado, finalizando con los toques de luces.

Este coloreado lo suelo realizar por partes, empezando primeramente con el rostro y la piel en general, así que aplico la base de color a toda la zona de piel descubierta, tales como el rostro, las orejas, el cuello, los brazos y el abdomen.

I continue shading around the face, just around the edges, in order to define the expression and give it depth, then I apply the highlights, quite soft highlights, which give it some proportion.

Continúo sombreando alrededor del rostro, justo por los bordes, con el fin de ir definiendo la expresión y darle profundidad, luego aplico las luces, unas luces bastantes suaves, las cuales le dan algo de proporción.

I proceed to color the glasses he is wearing, with a black border and a red and black center. I add two small red highlights in the black area in the center to give his eyes some sparkle.

Paso a colorear los lentes que lleva puestos, con un borde de color negro y al centro uso un color rojo y negro, agrego dos pequeños puntos de luces de color rojo en la zona negra del centro, con el fin de dar algo de brillo a la mirada.

I colored the hair two colors, one part dark brown, which is the long part down the back, while for the top I used reddish tones.

El cabello lo coloree de dos colores, una parte con marrón oscuro, que es la parte larga hacia abajo, mientras que para el copete utilizo tonos rojizos.

The outfit, which consists of a top, pants, and boots, is colored in shades of gray, and I add white and red lines to the crisscross straps on the pants.

El atuendo, el cual está compuesto por un top, pantalones y botas, lo coloreo con tonos grises y a las correas entrecruzadas en sus pantalones les hago unas lineas blancas y rojas.

Until then, I hadn't noticed that the orc was wearing a cape, so I proceeded to make it and color it in shades of brown.

Hasta aquí no me había fijado que el orco llevaba una capa, así que procedí a hacérsela y colorearla con tonos marrones.

At this point, the character's body was complete. All that was left was to add a background to the illustration. To avoid overshadowing the character, I decided to do something simple: add a colored base to the entire canvas and a square in the center, with other smaller squares around the edge.

And here is the final result. I hope you like it!

En este punto ya el cuerpo del personaje estaba completo, solo faltaba darle un fondo a la ilustración y para no opacar tanto al personaje decidí hacer algo sencillo, agregar una base de color a todo el lienzo y en el centro un cuadro, con otros cuadritos más pequeños al borde de este.
