Hello dear friends and aliens, I send my greetings and want to thank you for your support because last week my fan art was selected in seventh place. For me it was great to see my drawing there among so many creative geniuses, and it was because of an idea that occurred to me for something original. I feel very happy and grateful. So this week I have come again to participate in a new contest, where I have made a fan art of the character Drybone Hobgoblin, a very powerful ogre who possesses an axe. I feel that this character is very imposing, so I have taken it as a reference for a model in which I have preserved part of the essence of the character. Below I will briefly explain how I made this drawing and I hope you like it, let's begin!

Hola queridos amigos y aliens, envío mis saludos y quiero agredecer su apoyo porque la semana pasada mi fan art fue seleccionado en el séptimo lugar, para mi fue grandioso ver ahí mi dibujo en medio de tantos genios creativos, y fue por una idea que se me ocurrió para algo original, me siento muy contento y agradecido. Así que esta semana he venido de nuevo para participar en un nuevo concurso, donde he realizado un fan art del personaje Drybone Hobgoblin, un ogro muy poderoso que posee un hacha, siento que este personaje impone muchísimo por lo que lo he tomado como referencia para un modelo en el cual he conservado parte de la esencia del personaje. A continuación les comentaré brevemente como hice este dibujo y espero que les guste, comencemos!

PROCESS

To start my fan art drawing, I made a sketch of an ogre on a piece of white A1 cardboard, using only a pencil. I made the sketch by making changes to the character's entire shape. I added fangs and a macabre smile, something similar to an orc's, hehe. I also added big ears. I especially made enormous arms, with lots of muscles, sort of like the Hulk. Finally, I drew a huge axe, with very sharp blades and a very long handle, so it could be held with both hands.

Para comenzar con mi dibujo fan art, hice en una cartulina de color blanco tamaño A1, un boceto de un ogro, utilizando solamente un lápiz. EL boceto lo hice haciendo cambios en toda la forma del personaje, le hice colmillos y con una macabra sonrisa, algo parecido a los orcos jejej, orejas grandes también y especialmente hice unos brazos enormes, con muchos músculos, una suerte de Hulk. Por último dibuje una enorme hacha, con hojas granes muy afiladas y también un mango muy largo, para agarrarla a dos manos.

I began painting my drawing using a range of different shades of green to make it stand out. First, I start with the face, drawing the entire eye area and painting with light green. The goal is a light layer of color so I can then add darker shades of green to achieve a good contrast, allowing the details in the face to be clearly seen. I also painted the ears in this way. At that moment, I confess my drawing looked like one of the gremlins, hehe, for those who remember that movie.

Comencé a pinatr mi dibujo utilizando una gama de tonos verdes diferentes para hacer que el dibujo se vea llamativo. En primero lugar comienzo en el rostro, dibujando toda las zonas de los ojos y pintándo con color verde claro, el propósito es una capa clara de color para luego agregar tonos más oscuros de verde y así lograr un buen contraste, que pueda hacer que se observen bien los detalles en el rostros. He pintado así también las orejas, en ese instante confiezo que mi dibujo parecía uno de los gremlims jejeje para quienes recuerden aquella película.

Continuing with the painting style I used on the face, I also painted parts of the body, such as the arms, which, as I mentioned before, look enormous and muscular. This seemed like a good idea to add spiked shoulder guards; it seems to me like an outfit a character like this should always wear.

Siguiendo con el estilo de pintura que utilicé en el rostro, pinté también parte del cuerpo, como los brazos los cuales como mencioné antes, se ven enormes y musculosos. Esto me pareció una buena idea para agregar en los hombros unos protectores con púas, se me hace un atuendo que un personaje así como este siempre debe llevar.

I also painted and drew his chest, highlighting his abdominal muscles and his massive left arm, which also has a shoulder guard. At first, I wanted to add more armor pieces, but then I decided it wasn't a good idea; it was better to emphasize the beastliness of his presence.

También pinté y dibujé el pecho, resaltando sus músculos abdominales y su enorme brazo izquierdo que también tiene su protector en los hombros. En un principio quería hacerle mas piezas de armadura, pero luego pensé que no era una buena idea, era mejor resaltar la bestialidad de su presencia.

I continued painting what remained of the body, from the waist to the feet. This is where I drew inspiration from the Hulk to make this mighty ogre look imposing and powerful. I added shades of green, and on the legs, I gave him indigenous-like attire that ended at the feet. I think this greatly contributes to the character's presence as someone who moves anywhere on the ground.

Seguí pintando lo que quedaba del cuerpo, desde la cintura a los pies, aquí es donde me inspiré en Hulk para hacer que este poderoso ogro se viera imponente y poderoso. Fui agregando los tonos de color verde y en la parte de las piernas le puse atuendos como de indígena que terminan en los pies, creo que eso ayuda mucho a la presencia del personaje como alguien que se mueve en cualquier parte de terreno.

As I mentioned before, I made the axe very large, so you can imagine a blow from the Drybone Hobgoblin. So I used gray colors to create the metallic tone contrast that this axe should have. Then, to make the design more polished, I used markers to better highlight the colors I've used so far. For the part where I made the hair, I used a dark green.

El hacha como dije antes la hice muy grande, para que imaginen un golpe de Drybone Hobgoblin. Así que utilicé colores grises para hacer el contraste de tono metálico que debe tener esta hacha. Luego para que el diseño quede mejor utilicé marcadores para resaltar mejor los colores que hasta ahora he utilizado. En la parte donde hice cabello, utilicé un color verde oscuro.

This is how my Drybone Hobgoblin fan art was finished. I really liked its shape and I think I managed to capture what I had in mind. Both the weapons and the guards I added make it look very different and menacing. What do you think of the result? I really liked it. Así quedó finalizado mi fan art de Drybone Hobgoblin, me gustó mucho su forma y creo que logré plasmar lo que tenía en mente, tanto las armas como los protectores que le puse hacen que se vea muy diferente y amenazador. ¿Qué les ha parecido el resultado?
