Splinterlands Art Contest 345 - Skok Duskblight Fan Art Drawing [ENG-ESP]

Hello dear friends of Splinterlands and all the aliens, my greetings! This time I want to share with you a fan art I created for the weekly Splinterlands contest. I chose the character Skok Duskblight, a very powerful individual whose imposing presence never ceases to impress. I created this fan art using black cardboard, as my goal was to make him resemble a ghost while retaining the character's original features. Below I briefly explain how I created it; I hope you like it.

Hola queridos amigos de Splinterlands y a todos los aliens mis saludos, en esta oportunidad quiero compartir con ustedes un Fan Art que hice para el concurso semanal de Splinterlands. He elegido para eso al personaje Skok Duskblight, un individuo muy poderoso el cual no deja de impresionar por su imponente presencia. Este fan art lo he realizado utilizando cartulina de color negro ya que mi objetivo era hacerlo parecido a un espectro, conservando rasgos originales del personaje. Explico a continuación brevemente como fue que lo hice, espero que les guste.

Unlike other drawings, I won't use a sketch as a reference. Instead, I'll draw each part directly. I don't do this because it's very difficult to erase the lines on black cardboard without leaving traces that could ruin the design. This drawing consists of three parts: a skull-style mask, the tunic, and the hand with a flame illuminating it.

A diferencia de otros dibujos no utilizaré un boceto como referencia, sino que haré el dibujo directamente con cada una de sus partes, no lo hago porque en la cartulina negra es muy difícil borrar las líneas sin que restos no queden en la hora que podrían estropear el diseño. Este dibujo consta de 3 partes, una máscara estilo cráneo, la túnica y la mano con una flama iluminando.

Next I painted the design I chose to make this fan art, especially the horns that I made like those of a wild ram, huge and strong.

Seguidamente fui pintando el resto del diseño que elegí para hacer este fan art, especialmente los cuernos que los hice como los de un carnero salvaje, enormes y fuertes.

Although the cardstock is black, I still use black when I want to make darker parts. In this case, for the eyes, I used black so they would look really dark and empty. The bad news is that I'm running out of my favorite color, white. Although I started the drawing with a white crayon, the one I have here in the small box is white charcoal, and it's best for dark backgrounds since it illuminates a lot. Taking advantage of this, I begin drawing the front parts of the mask.

Aunque la cartulina es negra, utilizo igual el color negro cuando quiero hacer partes más oscuras. En este caso en la parte de los ojos, utilicé el color negro para que quedara bien oscuro y vacío. Una mala noticia es que mi color favorito, el color blanco ya se me esta terminando, aunque comencé el dibujo con un color blanco de cera escolar, el que tengo aquí pequeño es carboncillo blanco, y es lo mejor para fondos oscuros ya que ilumina mucho. Aprovechando esto comienzo a dibujar partes frontales de la máscara.

Little by little, with the aforementioned white color, I paint this dark skull. In the horn section, I create the surface so that the relief can be appreciated, using the lines and empty spaces to create that visual sensation, until I finish the entire horn.

Poco a poco con el color blanco mencionado anteriormente voy pintando este tenebroso craneo, en la parte de los curenos le voy haciendo la superficie para que s epueda apreciar el relieve, todo utilizando las rayas y espacios vacios para crear esa sensación visual, hasta terminar con todo el cuerno.

Finally, I also paint the tunic a little more so the contrast of light and shadow can be seen on the fabric. On his outstretched hand, I draw a flame, which the figure holds on both arms as a symbol of his great power. Here, after painting the shape of the fire in white, I then add green and yellow colors, and that's how it's finished.

Por último tambien pinto un poco más la túnica para que se pueda ver en la tela el contraste de luces y sombra, en su mano extendida dibujo una flama, la cual el personaje tiene en ambos brazos como símbolo de su gran poder. Aquí luego de pintar con blanco la forma del fuego después le agrgeo colores verdes y amarillos y así quedó finalizado.

What did you think of the result? I really like these kinds of characters, adorned with either skull masks or large horns, because the possibilities of drawing them in so many ways are endless. Qué les ha parecido el resultado? me gusta mucho esta clase de personajes que tienen como adornos ya sean máscaras de cráneos o grandes cuernos, porque las posibilidades de dibujarlos de muchas formas son inmensas. Este quedó con un tono muy macabro, y es un resultado que yo esperaba, espero que les haya gustado como quedo, no olviden opinar que les ha parecido, por ahora me despido hasta nueva oportunidad.
