Look and BEHOLD

DSCN3458.JPG

I finished some art for a change! I usually quit or give up before the art is finished. In this case, though i went as far as i was willing to go for this piece. I was quite pleased with the outcome. I hope you guys/gals are/were too.

DSCN3414.JPG

Check out my last post to see my inspirations.

This portrait is a combination of many images like the one above. Thank you Mary for the imagery to inspire.

RomanianRed1.jpg

The idea of @creativemary being immortalized in a portrait would be beyond belief. However, that is the case here.... to the best of my ability.

RomanianRed2.jpg

I made a post a couple of weeks ago called Portrait Potrayal that featured the progress and development of this piece of art. I also explained the inspiration as well as the artistic approach to the project.

RomanianRed3.jpg

I had discussed with her long ago about making some art with her hair as the feature of my artwork. Time passed and the allocation of my inspiration was less than what was desired. However, there was more than enough inspiration to draw from that would satiate my attempt to recreate an image of beauty fitting for the occasion.

RomanianRed4.jpg

At this point, i decided to use an old technique that had served me very well. Up to this point, the paper had not really built the pencil in a way that was easy. I built color and medium in a way that served the greater good.

RomanianRed5.jpg

The thing i was most dissatisfied with was that the hair wasn't as red as it should be to honor the Romanian flag colors properly. The red of @creativemary's hair wasn't rich enough either in my opinion.

RomanianRed6.jpg

It took some creativity and some flexibility in my tools and techniques to be able to get even slightly close to presenting what it was that artistically i had a mind to share.

DSCN3463 (2).JPG

DSCN3474.JPG

RomanianRed7.jpg

I bought some Sharpie markers. I didn't realize how much i had been missing by not using them earlier on. I got yellow, red, orange, and black. I also got the blue and purple but didn't use them on this endeavor. The Sharpie factor makes a big difference.

DSCN3442 (2).JPG

You can go purchase your own NFT version of this portrait here Art Auction

DSCN3460.JPG

I used pencil, pen, colored pencil, and eraser to complete this artwork.

DSCN3443 (2).JPG

Because of the paper, i had a difficult time layering the browns to overlap the reds and vise versa to achieve the tones i wanted.

DSCN3461 (2).JPG

Overall, i won't complain that much. I was fortunate to be able to artistically express what i wanted here in these images.

DSCN3465 (2).JPG

I really wanted to focus... or overFocus on the red hair and ... the curtly red hair in particular.

DSCN3470 (2).JPG

In the end, it's my own fault for not being able to express how awesome curly hair is.... and in particular .... Red Curly Hair!

DSCN3466 (2).JPG

It's at this point i considered giving up and quitting this artistic project. Even though things were not going to my hopes or expectations i still carried on.

DSCN3462 (2).JPG

Go get it now before my NFT's are not affordable. In one sense i am joking but in another sense, i am being totally serious. I have made my auctions for the first editions affordable. I have priced my art affordably... and at some point in the future you will all wish you got my NFT's when they were within your price range.

DSCN3472 (2).JPG

And of course, along the way i took some photographs of the artwork.

DSCN3477 (2).JPG

Or you could go own the art by buying the NFT with your Hive.

DSCN3473 (2).JPG

I will not make NFTs based on all of the angles that portray the beauty...

DSCN3474 (2).JPG

But the beauty is intrinsic and should be acquired accordingly.
You can enjoy the imagery here for free in my post...

DSCN3476 (2).JPG

I appreciate you all for taking the time to come and appreciate the art within my post. It's my hope that it has inspired you to go and check out the NFT ShowRoom and consider collecting some art over there.

DSCN3479 (2).JPG

In the image above i did the background with horizontal black stripes. In the image below i did the black with a second sweep. I did a vertical pass with black to cover the horizontal black Sharpie.

So, hopefully, @CreativeMary gives her approval of this portrait. I would be more than willing to take commissions for future artworks.

RomanianRed9.jpg

Dude... you can get this shit for 5 Hive right now.... at the auction. https://nftshowroom.com/gallery/castleberry_peremptory-portraits_romanian-red You can click that blue link and find it.

RomanianRed9a.jpg

I doubt anyone will actually go buy it from the auction from my experience. But, i will say that the price at the auction is lower than the price for the less than first editions.

untitled.gif

The first edition was given to @CreativeMary...
and for the rest it's either a purchase from bidding in the auction or the less expensive option of just buying the art outright.

I have a feeling that those that miss the boat may feel upset at missing the opportunity in the long run.

Thanks for taking the time to be here NOW!

Love you guys and gals! Hive on My Friends.....

With no question, I love your artwork, you seem to have put so much time and effort into creating it! It's truly appreciated, and I hope someone would buy the NFT because you deserve it (I would've bought it if I wouldn't have all my rewards to HP).

"One simple gesture of supporting amazing people would not only be rewarded with kindness and appreciation but will drive the author into creating and promoting more artwork, one simple step to accomplish inner harmony" - Quote created by me at 7 AM with one eye closed :)

We will see about the NFT purchase of the art. It seems that market is more difficult than the NFTs of Turds being sold for mucho dinero. hahahaha
Nothing wrong with having your rewards in all HP. In fact, that's probably the fastest way to grow your account and get mo bettah returns. Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment your appreciations!

Great work my friend, it's very nice to see the creative process of this amazing work. Keep improving every step of the way, I find the use of colors brilliant, making the skin in strong contrast with the colors of the hair, as well as the reference to the flag you mentioned in the old article. Good job.

Hurrah! You did it and I love it, the boldness the brashness of it is so exhilarating.
As I often say we, artists, can say a thing is done or not whenever we like, I realized that 'done' is such an open intrepretation I've found I can hold 3 differing views about my own piece (done, partly done, study) and happily go on to another piece :)

I am glad you finished the painting and didnt give up on the hair! I think it looks amazing how it turned out, especially that you used so many different shapes, or curls and how you mixed different colours and techniques! whats actually the size of your artwork? I could imagine it quiet well as a very big painting covering half of a wall, but maybe I am totally wrong..:))

avatar

Thank you so much for your kind words. I am glad that i didn't give up also. This is different than any other hair that i've done before. Maybe that's why i started out not being so pleased. I usually prefer more of a realistic looking hair when it comes to the detail and shape. But, in the end i just used the colors to do the details. Hahahaha

I come from a drawing background so i usually think in terms of rendering it in pencil/pen and then color... then touch up with some details with the ink. This time i thought a little outside of my box to solve my problems. I still know it's not what i set out to do... but i have to let the art be more organic than me trying to control every aspect.

So, thanks for noticing all the things you mentioned in your observations. This artwork was made on a standard sheet or printer paper. 8.5x11 inches... but i'm not sure what that is in y'alls metric size. hahhaa

I appreciate you stopping by and taking the time to leave a meaningful comment! Have a great week my friend. =)

I have been telling myself i am going to learn more digital applications to create... but i have a hard time getting any passion behind that pursuit. I don't mind using the digital mediums to embellish but i find it difficult to be interested enough to learn it all to create from scratch. Until that passion arises.. i will stick with the traditional methods for now!

Looking forward to Spring when we get to see some of those mediums for your work! Cheers bro!

Hello, I see that you are still surfing with your creations of works of art. You talk about the colors of the Romanian flag but I didn't understand why? I like colors that are alive. The shades in the hair are very pretty. The contrast between the blue face and the red hair gives a nice effect. I was away on his last day and I couldn't see your previous post. See you soon and continue to feed our brains with your excellent work

Yes, Creative Mary, the woman in the portrait is from Romania and she has red hair. She has also done some body and face painting before. So, i kind of merged the body/face paint, her red hair, and the colors of the flag all into one artistic portrait expression. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts and observations! Glad you are back. =) Cheers!

Yes arman10 Please do not text him. Because I have not seen any movement from him yet, but in general I do not want him to see my posts. Or Kelly, I want to act sooner than something happens. Unfortunately, here on Hive, there is no way to completely hide yourself from others. You can MUTE him as a user and you won't see his comments or posts etc. But Muting him .... will not keep him from seeing your stuff if he should come across your content. The blockchain keeps a record and if people know how and where to look... they can find anything that is publicly on the chain. So, your best bet is to just MUTE him from your account and forget about it.

I don't use Telegram or WhatsApp. I am on discord if you want to connect there. Thanks for telling me who it was. I have seen him in the Photography Lovers Community once or twice. I will be keeping an eye on him.

How bad it is that we can not remove anyone from our followers. This idea works in the field of music in general and not in the field of photography. I do not know why he has photography activities in the networks. Thank you for answering my questions, dear friend.

Well, it's part of the beauty of the Blockchain Technology. The technology and code it takes to make the blockchain work keeps everything open and transparent.

So, there is really nothing secret or hidden in the code or on the Hive blockchain. There isn't a mechanism to block or remove users from seeing what data is recorded on the blockchain interactions.

So, muting this user is really the only thing close to removing them from your experience on Hive. However, unless they mute you there is no control over their experience on Hive.

Yes, this was an ode and honor to Romania... but mostly to Mary herself. She has been active enough and i am honored to be able to call her a friend. Though, not as known and as close as i would like as a friend... I call her a friend nonetheless. She is a very creative person and i was quite privileged to draw her portrait here in this post. I'm looking forward to perhaps doing a less abstract portrait in the future of her. Thanks for stopping by buddy and taking the time to comment. I would be curious to know what your favorite aspect of this art or post was?!

Great work and well recorded. I missed this somehow, but will now share it.
A tip, since you said you use erasers: I use electric erasers and also some hard typewriter erasers for work I do on panel. For the electric erasers you can get different hardnesses also. For fine lines, I 'sharpen' them with sandpaper. Speaking of sandpaper, I use it also when I work on panel with charcoal and pencils, to push back or soften some areas.

I remembered the elementals from heroes 3, they were the same blue. And so a very bold choice of colors - amber hairs with fiery locks, blue scales and rabbit teeth) I really like it, but the reference still won. :) 😋

Thanks for stopping by to appreciate the art and drop a meaningful comment. I really liked the way you worded what you said! 'amber hair with fiery locks' sounds like art all by itself! Cheers bro!

Thank you, creativity to be, as well as the flight of thought! And since it's possible, here's another one of my favorite songs of all time. from the heart bro.

What on earth has that poor girl eaten? With that colour on her face, she should see a doctor urgently! :-)
On the other hand, there is something about her, that fascinates me.
