Moon Karts: How Kart Preset NFTs Affect Orbital Points
It is several months that I play and have fun on Moonkarts which is a Hive-based arcade race game that is part of the games featured on the Arcade Colony platform.
On Moon Karts, time is marked by 10-day seasons.
Playing a single race in Multiplayer mode allows you to receive a reward in COLONY tokens, but only if you finish:
- in the top two positions in a race with fewer than six players
- in the top three positions in a race with six players
On Moon Karts, there are also two seasonal reward mechanisms:
- Ranked Leaderboards
- Orbitals Leaderboard
The Ranked Leaderboard is based on:
- Ranking Points earned by players in races: 10 Ranking points for first place, 8 Ranking points for second place, ...
- the Staking Factor, which depends on the amount of COLONY staked.
The Orbitals Leaderboard is based:
- on the Orbital Points earned by players in races.
- on the NFTs that make up the Kart Preset: the rarity and foil of an NFT directly influence the amount of Orbital Points that can be earned during a race.
To earn Orbital Points during a race, you must collect at least 2 Orbitals (in-race items) along the race route.
There are 6 Orbital items on each track.
The total number of Orbital Points that can be earned during a single race depends on:
- the number of Orbitals collected (minimum 2, maximum 6)
- the final position in the race.
In this post, I'll show you how Kart Preset NFTs affect Orbital Points through the results of some races I played today, in which I deliberately changed the composition of my Kart Preset.
In the first race, I used the Kart Preset that I usually use in races, which consists of:
Kart: Arachno Eclipse (legendary)
Driver: Drift (Legendary)
Accessories: Flex Edge (Legendary), Jet Flow (Epic Gold), Grip Ease (Rare)
Tech Cards: Reinforced Body (Epic), Tire Upgrade (Epic Gold), Engine Enhancement (Epic)
With this Kart Preset, I easily won the race and collected 6 orbitals along the track.
My results in this race were:
- Position: First place
- Orbitals items: 6
- Colony items: 4
- Ranking Points: +10
- Orbital Points: +20640
- COLONY tokens earned: +4
- FUEL consumed: 260.2
In the second race of my test, I modified my Kart Preset, leaving only the Kart and Driver:
- Kart: Arachno Eclipse (legendary)
- Driver: Drift (Legendary)
With this Kart Preset, I still won the race and collected 6 Orbitals along the way, but my Orbital Points gain was greatly reduced: +6400 Orbital Points.
My results in this race were:
- Position: First place
- Orbital items: 6
- Colony items: 4
- Ranking Points: +10
- Orbital Points: +6400
- COLONY tokens earned: +3
- FUEL consumed: 95
In the third race of my test, I modified my Kart Preset again using a combination of a common Kart + Driver:
- Kart: Astro Kart (Common)
- Driver: Luna (Common)

With this Kart Preset, I only used 1.9 FUEL, but completing the race was a real challenge as it was really difficult to run the longer curves.
I finished third, collected 2 Orbitals along the way, and my Orbital Points gain was very small: +40 Orbital Points.
My results in this race were:
- Position: Third place
- Orbital items: 2
- Colony items: 2
- Ranking Points: +5
- Orbital Points: +40
- COLONY tokens earned: 0
- FUEL consumed: 1.9
In the fourth race of my test, I modified my Kart Preset again using a combination of only two NFTs, Kart + Driver of the epic type:
- Kart: Quasar Sport (Epic)
- Driver: Luna (Epic)
With this Kart Preset, I only used 26.6 FUEL, collected 6 Orbitals, and earned 2880 Orbitals Points.
My results in this race were:
- Position: First place
- Orbital items: 6
- Colony items: 2
- Ranking Points: +10
- Orbital Points: +2880
- COLONY tokens earned: +4
- FUEL consumed: 26.6

Comparative analysis
The results I collected in my test show that the number and rarity of Kart Preset NFTs have a huge impact on Orbital Points earnings.
My best Kart Preset (Fuel: 260.2) generated 3440 Orbital Points for each Orbital collected
The Kart + Driver (Legendary) combination generated 1066 Orbital Points for each Orbital collected
The Kart + Driver (Epic) combination generated 480 Orbital Points for each Orbital collected
The Kart + Driver (Common) combination generated 20 Orbital Points for each Orbital collected
Even when collecting the same number of Orbitals and winning the race, the Orbital Points reward varies greatly depending on the composition of the preset Kart.
Considering the Orbital Points/Fuel ratio, Epic Preset Karts offer a good compromise between FUEL and Orbital Points.
Those who want to reach the top positions in the Orbitals Leaderboard must use high rarity NFTs (preferably Gold Foil) but at the same time must also have good FUEL production.

Moon Karts: Come gli NFT del Kart Preset influenzano gli Orbital Points
Sono diversi mesi che gioco e mi diverto su Moonkarts che è un Hive-based arcade race game che fa parte dei giochi presenti sulla piattaforma Arcade Colony.
Su Moon Karts il tempo è scandito da stagioni di 10 giorni.
Giocare una singola corsa nella modalità Multiplayer permette di ricevere una ricompensa in token COLONY ma solo se si arriva:
- tra le prime due posizioni in una corsa con meno di sei giocatori
- tra le prime tre posizioni in una corsa con sei giocatori
Su Moon Karts ci sono anche due meccanismi di ricompensa stagionali:
- Ranked Leaderboards
- Orbitals Leaderboard
La Ranked Leaderboards si basa:
- sui Ranking Points guadagnati dai giocatori nelle corse: 10 Ranking points per il primo posto, 8 Ranking points per il secondo posto, ...
- sullo Staking Factor che dipende dal quantitativo di COLONY messi in staking.
L'Orbitals Leaderboards si basa:
- sugli Orbital Points guadagnati dai giocatori nelle corse.
- sugli NFT che compongono il Kart Preset: la rarità e la foil di un NFT influenzano direttamente il quantitativo di Orbital Points guadagnabili durante una corsa.
Per guadagnare Orbital Points durante una corsa è necessario raccogliere almeno 2 Orbitals (in-race items) lungo il percorso della corsa.
Su ogni tracciato ci sono 6 Orbitals items.
Il totale degli Orbital Points guadagnabili durante una singola corsa dipende:
- dal numero di Orbitals raccolti (minimo 2 massimo 6)
- dal posizionamento finale nella corsa.
In questo post mostro come gli NFT del Kart Preset influenzano gli Orbital Points tramite i risultati di alcune gare che ho giocato oggi e in cui ho volutamente cambiato la composizione mio Kart Preset.
Nella prima corsa ho utilizzato il Kart Preset che uso usualmente nelle corse che è composto da:
Kart: Arachno Eclipse (legendary)
Driver: Drift (Legendary)
Accessories: Flex Edge (Legendary), Jet Flow (Epic Gold), Grip Ease (Rare)
Tech Cards: Reinforced Body (Epic), Tire Upgrade (Epic Gold), Engine Enhancement (Epic)

Nella seconda corsa del mio test ho modificato il mio Kart Preset lasciando solo il Kart e il Driver:
- Kart: Arachno Eclipse (legendary)
- Driver: Drift (Legendary)
Con questo Kart Preset ho vinto ugualmente la corsa e ho raccolto 6 Orbitals lungo il percorso ma il mio guadagno in Orbital Points è molto diminuito: +6400 Orbital Points.
I miei risultati in questa corsa sono stati:
- Posizione: Primo posto
- Orbitals items: 6
- Colony items: 4
- Ranking Points: +10
- Orbital Points: +6400
- token COLONY guadagnati: +3
- FUEL consumed: 95
Nella terza corsa del mio test ho modificato ancora il mio Kart Preset utilizzando una combinazione di Kart + Driver di tipo comune:
- Kart: Astro Kart(Common)
- Driver: Luna (Common)

Con questo Kart Preset ho consumato solo 1.9 FUEL ma completare la corsa è stata una vera e propria impresa come è stato davvero difficile fare le curve più lunghe.
Sono arrivato terzo, ho raccolto 2 Orbitals lungo il percorso e il mio guadagno in Orbital Points è stato molto piccolo: +40 Orbital Points.
I miei risultati in questa corsa sono stati:
- Posizione: Terzo posto
- Orbitals items: 2
- Colony items: 2
- Ranking Points: +5
- Orbital Points: +40
- token COLONY guadagnati: 0
- FUEL consumed: 1.9
Nella quarta corsa del mio test ho modificato ancora il mio Kart Preset utilizzando una combinazione di soli due NFT, Kart + Driver di tipo epico:
- Kart: Quasar Sport (Epic)
- Driver: Luna (Epic)
Con questo Kart Preset ho consumato solo 26.6 FUEL, ho raccolto 6 Orbitals e ho guadagnato 2880 Orbitals Points.
I miei risultati in questa corsa sono stati:
- Posizione: Primo posto
- Orbitals items: 6
- Colony items: 2
- Ranking Points: +10
- Orbital Points: +2880
- token COLONY guadagnati: +4

Analisi comparativa
I risultati che ho raccolto nel mio test mostrano che il numero e la rarità degli NFT del Kart Preset hanno un impatto enorme sul guadagno di Orbital Points.
Il mio Kart Preset migliore (Fuel: 260.2) ha generato 3440 Orbital Points per ogni Orbital raccolto
La combinazione Kart + Driver (Legendary) ha generato 1066 Orbital Points per ogni Orbital raccolto
La combinazione Kart + Driver (Epic) ha generato 480 Orbital Points per ogni Orbital raccolto
La combinazione Kart + Driver (Common) ha generato 20 Orbital Points per ogni Orbital raccolto
Anche raccogliendo lo stesso numero di Orbitals e vincendo la gara, la ricompensa in Orbital Points varia molto in base alla composizione del Kart preset.
Considerando il rapporto Orbital Points/Fuel i Kart Preset epici offrono un buon compromesso tra FUEL e Orbital Points.
Chi vuole raggiungere le posizioni top nell'Orbitals Leaderboard deve utilizzare NFT di alta rarità (meglio se Gold Foil) ma allo stesso tempo deve avere anche una buona produzione di FUEL.

It's interesting to see the different setups and to see how much you earned. It seems like your strategy is working out as you are winning quite often.
My kart preset is a good kart preset and allows me to come first in most of the races I play in during the seasons, especially against liquidity bots, but I need to improve it if I want to reach the top positions in the Orbitals leaderboard.

That is nice review and it's understandable that the kart and other items used along with driver (rarity) effects the earning, but now vake to understand the preset direct contribution to the earning. The preset helps to save the setting (combination).

The preset itself does not directly increase earnings; it only serves to save the combination of items (Kart + Driver + Accessories + Tech).
What influences Orbital Points is the rarity and foil of the NFTs contained in that preset.
