Story / Historia
The story in Need For Speed Underground is not much to speak of, it all starts with you being an amateur racer and joining illegal races in order to make a name for yourself on the streets. The story as such is that, without much drama, in this adventure there will be two characters that will be all the time giving indications about the available races that are on the streets.
La historia en Need For Speed Underground no es la gran cosa que digamos, todo empieza siendo un corredor amateur e integrándote a carreras ilegales para poder hacerte un nombre en las calles. La historia como tal es esa, sin mucho drama, en esta aventura habrá dos personajes que estarán todo el tiempo dando indicaciones sobre las carreras disponibles que ahí en las calles.
Gameplay / Jugabilidad
When we talk about the gameplay in Need For Speed Underground, I must say that it really is a game that ends up hooking you, for being a fairly old game has a good amount of races of all kinds ranging from circuits to drift races. At first the races can become a little complicated, but it is something that can be solved very easily with practice.
Cuando hablamos de la jugabilidad en Need For Speed Underground, debo decir que de verdad es un juego que termina enganchándote, para ser un juego bastante viejo tiene una buena cantidad de carreras de todo tipo que van desde los circuitos hasta las carreras de drifts. En un principio las carreras se pueden tornar un poco complicadas, pero es algo que se puede resolver muy fácilmente con la práctica.
You can also tune the car you are using as you wish, from the mechanics to the paint job. But yes, something I do not like is that you can not customize the cars we have individually, the paint and vinyls we use for a car, will be the same for the other cars we have. This was something a bit hard to assimilate, but even so this section is still good.
También tendremos la disponibilidad de tunear el carro que estemos usando a nuestro antojo, desde la parte mecánica hasta la pintura. Pero eso sí, algo que no me gusta es que no se puede personalizar los carros que tengamos de forma individual, la pintura y vinilos que usemos para un carro, será el mismo para los demás carros que tengamos. Esto fue algo un poco jodido de asimilar, pero aun así sigue siendo bueno este apartado.
Controls / Controles
On the other hand, the controls end up being quite easy to use, I think that for anyone who has ever played a racing title, you will not have problems with this. Perhaps the situation regarding the controls may get a little complicated, it is in the drifting races, they are one of the situations of the game that deserves that you spend a little time to put into practice, but beyond that I do not see difficulty in terms of controls with the handling of the car.
Por otra parte, los controles terminan siendo bastante fácil de usar, creo que para todo aquel que alguna vez ha jugado un título de carreras, no va a tener problemas con esto. Tal vez la situación en cuanto a los controles puede que se complique un poco, es en las carreras de derrapar, son una de las situaciones del juego que amerita que se le dedique un poco de tiempo para poner en práctica, pero más allá de eso no veo dificultad en cuanto a los controles con el manejo del carro.
Graphics / Gráficos
The graphics in Need For Speed Underground for its time left more than one person hallucinating (I join that list). In terms of details, the cars look great, the neon lights, the vinyls, the paint, everything was very innovative for that time. The night track environments were very well designed, the lights had a high level of detail that made everything look so real for its time. Undoubtedly one of the best sections of this title.
Los gráficos en Need For Speed Underground para su época dejo alucinando a más de uno (Me uno a esa lista). A nivel de detalles los carros se ven geniales, las luces de neón, los vinilos, la pintura, todo era muy innovador para ese momento. Las ambientaciones en las pistas nocturnas estaban muy bien diseñadas, las luces tenían un alto nivel de detalle que hacía que todo se viera tan real para su época. Sin duda alguna uno de los mejores apartados del este título.
Sound / Sonido
In this section about the sound I can say that it is the highlight of Need For Speed Underground. The songs are simply adrenaline at its maximum expression with music of the time, mostly of the hip hop genre and also a little electronic music.
En este apartado sobre el Sonido puedo decir que es plato fuerte de Need For Speed Underground. Las canciones son sencillamente adrenalina en su máxima expresión con música de la época mayormente del genero hip hop y también un poco de música electrónica.
As for the sound effects in the cars, this was a complete abuse, the way they innovated the engines of the cars practically roaring, was something extraordinary, no doubt very well worked.
The sound details in the tracks do not go unnoticed either, they are very well achieved, where you can notice this point quite well, is in the skidding tracks, although well, sometimes you can say that it is exaggerated a little but it is something that ends up being part of the game.
En cuanto a los efectos de sonido en los carros, esto fue un completo abuso, la manera en que innovaron los motores de los carros prácticamente que rugiendo, fue algo extraordinario, sin duda alguna muy bien trabajado. Los detalles de sonido en las pistas tampoco pasan desapercibidos, están muy bien logrado, donde se puede notar este punto bastante bien, es en las pistas de derrape, aunque bueno, en ocasiones se puede decir que se exagera un poco pero es algo que termina siendo parte del juego.
Final Verdict / Veredicto Final
Perhaps in the way I reviewed it, it may seem that Need For Speed Underground was an almost perfect game, but the reality is that it is not. If it ends up being entertaining and a lot and that's where you forget those negative details, it is not that it is a game with a lot of depth, but something that really makes it exciting and addictive at the same time, is its epic section of tuning cars, I think it is the most emblematic and remarkable of this title, yes, without leaving aside its main course that is the sound section.
Tal vez en la manera que lo reseñe, puede parecer que Need For Speed Underground fue un juego casi perfecto, pero la realidad es que no. Si termina siendo entretenido y mucho y es ahí donde se olvidan esos detalles negativos, tampoco es que sea un juego con mucha profundidad, pero algo que de verdad lo hace emocionante y a la vez adictivo, es su apartado épico de tunear los coches, creo que es lo más emblemático y destacable de este título, eso sí, sin dejar a un lado su plato fuerte que es el apartado de sonido.
If you are one of those who like racing games and want to try something old school, Need For Speed Underground is a 100% recommended title, I assure you that you will have a great time playing this great street racing game.

Este Need For Speed no recuerdo haberlo jugado, pero de la saga hay muchos que fueron parte de niñez, juegos simples, pero siempre entretenidos!

En realidad esta entrega a mi parecer fue el que le termino dando el plus que le faltaba a la franquicia, las secuelas que se presentaron después terminaron abordándolo todo haciendo que el nombre de Need For Speed para hacer un icono en este genero de carreras. Por excelencia sigue siendo uno de los mejores, saludos!
What a classic! Love the NFS series. I missed this game from the series though. I need to play it as soon as possible. So many games to play with so less time. xD
Of course... I played this classic game quite a lot and I even managed to pass it, it's really good.
If you really plan to play it, then be prepared to feel the controls a bit stiff, believe me you will feel a big difference compared to Most Wanted. But you'll enjoy it anyway bro, I'm getting ready to start the adventure in Underground 2, but I'm psyching myself up hahaha I really want to play it all the way through. We'll see how it goes.
The soundtrack in these games was hard to beat!
The sound section in this game is the best it has, without a doubt the music that sounds while you are behind the wheel is another level.
