Big Progress: My Soulbound and Gladius Opening Experience
Hello, Splinterlands Warriors!
This time I want to share a pretty exciting personal experience: the moment I finally opened some chests and packs from the Glint and Merit I’d been collecting. Maybe for some of you, this is just a regular thing—but for me, someone who’s been grinding hard in Modern mode all season long, this moment always feels like a small reward worth celebrating.
I didn’t even realize it, but over the past few weeks, I managed to collect around 58,000 Glint. All of it came from battle after battle in Modern mode—some smooth, some dramatic (like losing one ranking point right before season end, haha). But that’s Splinterlands for you—always full of surprises and daily challenges.
After some thought, I decided to spend 20,000 Glint to buy 20 Major Chests. It felt like trading sweat for a bit of luck. Even though you’re never guaranteed good pulls, it’s still nerve-wracking waiting to see what’s inside.
📦 Chest Time
I opened the chests one by one and… although my big hope to land a legendary or epic card didn’t come true, the results weren’t too bad.
Here’s what I got:
- LUCEHEIM DEMON
- DRYBONE MEGALODON
- TOKATAG CONSCRIPT
- BLACKMOOR WILD ELF
- CHAOS ADJUDANT
And that’s not all—I also pulled 1,246 Merit, which became my second hope to get something good from a Gladius pack.
One thing I realized: even though I didn’t get any shiny cards or rare monsters that make your eyes light up, these Soulbound cards are still super valuable for long-term progress—especially if you can upgrade them to higher levels.
With renewed energy (and enough Merit), I headed straight to the Guild Store to grab 2 Gladius packs. My hope was simple: just one Epic card, so I wouldn’t fall behind compared to last season.
But turns out… rare is still in love with me 😅
Epic and Legendary cards still refused to visit my account, but at least a few of the cards helped upgrade two important ones:
- AJAX LIGHTFOOT reached level 5
- KOTRIHUS BAYNE also hit level 5
That felt like a small but satisfying achievement. Level 5 cards really start to make a difference in Brawls. Who knows—maybe next season they’ll be the key to victory for my guild.
If you’re new to the game and still think Glint or Merit doesn’t matter much, let me tell you: don’t underestimate them! These two resources can slowly but surely help you build up your team’s strength. Glint is perfect for expanding your Soulbound collection, while Merit helps you get those Gladius cards that you can’t buy on the market.
And one more thing: don’t rush to spend your Glint on things that don’t have a big impact. It’s better to save up and open chests or packs when you’re ready strategically. Also, focus on leveling up the key cards you use the most.
And finally—trust the process. Collecting Glint and Merit is like a small investment that pays off more and more over time. The more patient you are, the better the surprises that could come your way.
See you in the arena—and may your packs be luckier than mine! 😄
