An Easy But Unpredictable win

Hi splinter farm,

Welcome to another weekly blog about splinterlands. I’ve come a long way in spl and everyday I keep enhancing my skills. I can’t say that I can one who has fine skills but I can say that everyday it keeps getting better.

Last year I was able to achieve my sps goal and this year I have a different goal. For one or two reasons I unstaked my sps and this year I have made a double goal. I remember in my previous post I made mention of not being very active on the battle field anymore as my attention is now divided.

So far so good. I’ve been playing way less games and even this time round my energy mana fills back up to 50/50 on some irregular days. Yesterday I was able to play more than 25 games cause my energy mana was filled up. Today I am not feeling well so I’ve not played yet.

But yesterday I had this incredible battle which I will like to talk about. It’s not a battle of many cards but u liked the way it panned out as I initially thought I was going to loose.

The battle mana for this game was 16 with 3 rule sets as I am fluctuating between gold and diamond this season. I had the no magic cards Ruleset, thorns in play and then both players could use only 4 cards. I liked the last rule as the battle mana was incredibly low.

As usual I went for the water element and selecting keyla frendul summoner. My first card was sethropod because of its shield. Went for tide biter next cause it’s a reach card and it also has the reflection shield.

Next was uraeus because if it’s speed and also ability to give poison to card. Lastly I went for pelacor fredul, I like this card because it has speed and also the flying ability as well.

My opponent on the other hand pulled out a trick I didn’t expect him to. Having a summoner which has the close range is very dangerous in my opinion. Range cards are very powerful and when they have the ability to have the close range ability it’s over.

The first round wasn’t as I thought it’ll be. I quickly killed his range card which was in the last position. Uraes was the one who took it out and it was amazing. Round one ended with 2 of his cards bleeding and almost dying. They were both left with 1 health each and I knew I’ll finish them in round 2 and it happened.

This match didn’t go past round 3 as I was surprised. I didn’t think it’ll be this easy to win such a game because of his range cards. This was so beneficial for him cause the thorns wouldn’t affect him cause they were range.

This is my battle link

Well done! Going for melee in a Thorns-Ruleset is quite uncommon, but the high damage combined with the extra shield made up for that.

Yep that was the reason why I went for that particular card for the first position. I liked the game so much.
