Splinterlands 🐉| MERITS to Upgrade your GLADIATORS!

In this Splinterlands Social Media Challenge, the goal is to discuss upgrading cards from the Gladiators collection. However, before getting to that topic, understand that you first need Merits to open the gladius cases and thus finally improve the cards in this collection. You Need Merits!

The main resource players will need to improve their collection and level up their Gladiator cards is Merits. The main way to get Merits is by participating in Guild Brawls; the more victories your guild gets by defeating the Frays, the more Merits everyone in the guild will get. Furthermore, a good cost-effective way to obtain merits is to exchange 2k glint for 2k merits every season, because that way you get a pack of gladius every season.

Opening Gladius Cases

In my first Gladius Cases openings I got two Gold Foils, one from Alva The Crusher and another from Krash Wanderford. However, what was truly impactful in this opening was getting the last copy I needed to upgrade Quora Towershead to level 3.

In the last 11 Gladius Cases I opened, I had great surprises with incredible cards being revealed. The first card was Alva the Crusher in the Gold Foil version, followed by Flaguilon Reine and Xulax Nightwind, both of which I didn't yet own in my collection, so we'll talk a little more about them later. I also managed to get another copy of Quora and another epic card in this opening.

Gladiator Cards - Improvements and Upgrades!

I didn't have any copies, even the normal rarity of Flaguilon Reine, and luckily, after opening 11 more Gladius Cases, I ended up getting this incredible Legendary card in Gold Foil rarity, which is even better. This is a great card that was missing from my Gladiators collection, as it's a mage with 2 spell and blast damage, and being a gladiator, it has Bloodlust which can end up being activated by damage that hits another opponent. The best part is that, being a Gold Foil card, it already comes at level 2, so it already has +1 HP and also the Shatter ability, which destroys the opponent's armor when the attack hits.

It wasn't a gold foil like the Flaguilon Reine card, but I also got another legendary card from the Gladiators collection that I didn't have yet, which is Xulax Nightwind. This card is a great tank because it has 7 HP and 7 shield, which, with the Void Armor ability, allows even magic damage to hit its shield, making it resistant to up to 14 damage of any type. In addition, it has 3 speed, which is good, and 3 melee damage; if it manages to land a kill, Bloodlust will buff all its stats. At higher levels, this card starts to transform into a true monster because it gains Thorns, Void, and finally Magic Reflect, making it very useful against melee enemies due to Thorns, but especially against mages.

Perhaps the most powerful card in this Gladitors collection is Quora Towershead, and it was precisely this card that I managed to evolve to level 3 with the copies obtained in the Gladius Cases in the last pack openings. At this level, Quora receives the Immunity ability, which makes her, as the name suggests, immune to opponent debuffs and, even better, ruleset debuffs. This detail, which may not seem significant to many, ends up making Quora – who is already very strong – extremely powerful when the match has any kind of rule that causes card debuffs. If you don't know, Quora's power comes from her dual-type attack (magic and melee) with a total of 4 attacks, which gives her a high chance of activating Bloomlust.

Você precisa de Merits!

O principal recurso que os jogadores vão precisar para conseguir melhorar a coleção e upar as suas cartas Gladiators são os Merits. A principal forma de conseguir Merits é participando dos Guild Brawls, quando mais vitórias a sua guilda obter vencendo os Frays, mais Merits todos da guild vão conseguir. Além disso, um bom custo benefício para obter merits é toda season trocar 2k glint por 2k merits, porque assim você consegue um pack de gladius toda season.

Abertura de Gladius Cases

Nas minhas primeiras aberturas de Gladius Cases consegui duas Gold Foils, uma da Alva The Crusher e outra do Krash Wanderford. Entretanto, o que foi realmente impactante nessa abertura foi conseguir a última cópia que faltava para conseguir upar a Quora Towershead para o nível 3.

Na últimas 11x Gladius Cases abertas tive ótimas surpresas com cartas incríveis sendo abertas. A primeira carta foi a Alva The Crusher na versão Gold Foil, já em seguida temos a Flaguilon Reine e o Xulax Nighwind que são ambas cartas que eu ainda não possuia nenhuma cópia na minha coleção, por isso vamos falar um pouco mais sobre elas em seguida. Consegui nessa abertura mais uma cópia da Quora e também outra carta épica.

Gladiator Cards - Melhorias e Upgrades!

Não tinha nenhuma cópia, mesmo na raridade normal do Flaguilon Reine e por sorte ao abrir mais 11x Gladius Cases, acabei conseguindo essa carta Lendária incrível na raridade Gold Foil, o que é melhor ainda. Essa é uma ótima carta que faltava na minha coleção Gladiators, por ser um mago com 2 de dano mágico e blast, e por ser gladiator tem o Bloodlust que pode acabar sendo ativado com o dano que atingir outro adversário. O melhor é que por ser Gold Foil a carta já vem level 2, por isso já possui +1 de HP e também a habilidade Shatter que destroi a armadura do adversário quando o ataque acertar.

Não foi uma gold foil como a carta Flaguilon Reine, mas também consegui uma outra carta lendária da coleção Gladiators que ainda não tinha que é a Xulax Nightwind. Essa carta é um ótimo Tank porque possui 7 de HP e 7 de escudo que com a habilidade Void Armor faz com que até mesmo dano mágico acerte seu escudo fazendo com que ele aguente até 14 de qualquer tipo de dano. Além disso, possui 3 de speed o que é bom e 3 de dano melee, que caso consiga acerta uma kill o bloodlust vai buffar todos os status. Nos próximos níveis essa carta começa a se transformar em um verdadeiro monstro porque ganha thorns, Void e por fim magic reflect, o que a deixa bem útil contra melees pelo thorns, mas principalmente contra os magos.

Talvez a carta mais poderosa dessa coleção Gladitors seja a Quora Towershead e foi justamente ela que eu consegui evoluir para o nível 3 com as cópias obtidas nas Gladius Cases na últimas aberturas de pack. Nesse nível a Quora recebe a habilidade Immunity, o que a deixa, como o nome sugere, imune a debuffs de adversário e o melhor ainda debuffs de rulesets. Esse detalhe que para muitos pode não ser significante, acaba deixando a quora - que já é muito forte - extremamente poderosa quando a partida houver algum tipo de regra que cause debuff nas cartas. Caso não saibam o poder da Quora vem do seu ataque de dois tipos mágico e melee com um total de 4, que faz com que ela tenha muitas chances de ativar blooslust.
