Splinterlands Rental Market Has Revived?

For the longest time (I can't remember since when), I haven't been able to get any rental for my card collection. I remembered there used to be a time where rental rates were so crazy, and everyone is just to rent in and/or rent out their cards on the last few days of the season to secure the CP. Those were the fun days.

Then the game and the rental market gradually tapered off with the "winter season/bear market" and it reached a point that I wasn't able to even get 1 DEC of rental from my card collection. I mean, I don't have a fantastic collection but it's quite discouraging to get 0 DEC of rentals considering there's the fees associated with listing. It got so bad until I actually sold off some cards as well, since I wasn't paying as much and didn't need that many cards as well.

But recently, I was pleasantly surprised that the rental market has somewhat revived. Maybe it was the Survival mode? Maybe it was the Season rental?

Anyway, out of my 1,718 cards, I was able to rent out 4 cards to get a total of 28.51 DEC per day across an entire Season! How cool is that? Considering it was a dry zero for weeks and months! I also noticed that the value of my cards has increased slightly in value as well - it used to be just around USD 100, and now it's at USD 149 to 168.

So which valuable cards were the ones that had rental demand?

• Gold Foil Venator Kinjo Level 2
• Gold Foil Djinn Biljka Level 2
• Gold Foil Kelya Frendul Level 2
• Lyanna Natura Level 1

While I could see why Gold Foil Legendary cards could command rental, it was a little surprising to even a non-Gold summoner could get rental as well. Interestingly, I do have Gold Foil Epic cards, Legendary summoners, Level 2 Legendary cards that have no rental command.

Anyway, this is definitely an encouraging sign that the rental market has revived, and this bodes well for the Splinterlands gaming ecosystem as well. So if you have some cards sitting in your card collection, do check out if you could earn some rental with it!
