A post started about Land, ended about everything Splinterlands

The first harvest after Land 1.75, I was so annoyed at myself for not keeping up with the official updates. I didn't harvest before the launch so I had to buy a bunch of resouces to do my sps and research harvests. I had to liquidate 11k sps at such a low price. That wasn't fun at all.

Right after that, most of my grain plots converted into rock plots. Figuring that sps mining wouldn't be lucrative, I converted many shard mines into iron and rock mines. I also built two new worksites, hoping to become self-sufficient and keep some shard mines and at least one research site running.

Of course I did all that the same day I found out about the new recources. I didn't take the time to think strategically. Also there wasn't any reliable cource of information about how to manage the Land back then because it was new for every one. Only time will reveal if what I did was right.

Spoiler alert! Even that wasn't enough.

I had to forfeit the next sps and research harvest. For the one after, I had to pay 3k dec for the missing resources. That's why I decided to turn off my sps and research sites to release the workers and start developing more grain and iron mines. The goal is to start stacking the resources and maybe one day resume Research when it doesn't ruin the fragile balance I'm trying to maintain.

Of course, I'm not saying I'm doing everything right. I honestly have no idea what I'm doing. I'm just rying things and hoping they work, in the absence of a clear guide or even a collective way to share our experiences(To which maybe this post would be a contribution). Or at lease none I know of.

These are the plots I temporarily frose in order to stop spending money on the needed resources to harvest them. They are seven plots, including two epics.

Looking at this photo now, I should definitely rearrange my workers soon and restart the two epic plots. One for SPS and one for research. I don't have much remorse about shutting off the other five plots because Sps isn't so hight a priority for me right now because there are other ways to get it. (Of course, I might be wrong about this. Maybe SPS is the future of the game and will be the most valuable thing.

And these are six plots I started developing, using the workers I pulled from the above plots. In an attempt to make my land self-sufficient.

Speaking of ways to get SPS,

I'm gonna check on my node right after publishing this post.

During the presale, I fomoed into buying a common node licence with @saffisara . We created a seperate account that holds the licence. One that has a cool name I won't be revealing yet and that we both have the keys for (in case you wonder how we did it). We enjoyed the passive income for a long while and now we staked it using Peakmonsters' free tool. I guess we need to start paying for it now. Or switch to something else. Initially, I intended to run the node on a local device, and I might still do that. But for now, I don't have the time to do it. So I'll do the lazy thing everyone else seems to be doing and stake it on someone else's node.

Proposition

Now that I'm sure I'm never gonna be able to develop all the land I own unless a miracle happens, I decided to allow some serious people to partner with me in the tract I bought (also in the presale fomo. Oops there seems to be a pattern here haha). So instead of missing out on the potential taxes, I'd like swap some of the plots in Gillith Pristine Northwest with anyone who has scattered plots and wants his plots grouped in one tract to manage them easily.

I guess it's a win-win situation.

You get neighboring plots. I get the tax from the plots you develop (Cause I have the keep)

Before I end this post, I feel compelled to talk about the coming card set.

Conclave Arcana will surely make some action in the game and make the tokens' prices move. Not sure if they will move up or down. At this point, I expect everything when it comes to prices because I've proven to myself time and time again that I know nothing about these things.

One thing is sure though, the vouchers are gonna have value again. That is if they will be needed in the presale, as usual.

That's good news for me because I've been sitting on a good amount of them.

About the Chaos cards, I'm not sure if they will have less value because they will be less useful (because they won't be allowed in modern ranked battles) or more value because they are now considered "older" cards, and the new player who joined after Rebellion or will join after Conclave Arcana will want to buy them from us "old timers" if they want them.

I recently recieved an offer from someone on discord who wanted to buy my chaos cards above market price. I declined the offer because selling my Chaos cards would mean quitting the ranked play. And probably the Guild Brawls. Because my Chaos cards are the ones keeping me competitive right now, allowing me to finish in Diamond 2 and even diamond 1 sometimes. My older cards are mostly tied in Land and I haven't bought any significant amount of cards after Chaos.

What will I do when Chaos cards are banished from Modern? I'm still trying to figure that out. I'm trying not to fomo into Conclave Arcana, but we'll see if I can haha.

I'm sure once I decide I figured out what will happen, things will go the other way haha.

One last note

I'm aware this post kept going for too long now( sorry for that). But there's something else @splinterlands related that I want to ask about. What happened to card rentals? and how are you guys managing them? I used to easily rent out my spare cards and get good DEC for them but now that market became either dormant or it's too complicated for me to know how to optimise the way I use it.

I would appreciate it if someone pointed me to the right direction here.
