Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge: Powerful Combos!

The theme of this week's Community Engagement Challenge is Powerful Combos. There are a few pretty good combos that are currently being used in the Meta but one of the combos I find most entertaining, since it does pack quite a punch when it works, is using good ol' Elias Max Pruitt in conjunction with the cards I will go over below

The Silverblade Fighter is a Rare Monster. At level 1 he has 1 Melee Attack, 3 Speed, 6 Armor and 5 Health and he starts off with Flank (At the beginning of battle, if this Unit is in the first position, the unit in the second position gains Reach) ability which is his signature one. It is, of course, really, really useful if you want to put a Melee Monster without Reach in the off-tank spot. At **level 2** he gains a 2nd ability - Void Armor (Magic attacks hit this Monster's armor before its Health) and 1 Health Point for a total of 6. At **level 6** he gains his third at final ability - Protect (All friendly Monsters gain +2 Armor). Finally, maxed out at **level 8** he has 3 Melee Attack, 4 Speed, 7 Armor and 6 Health.

Leolin Sifu is a 9-mana Epic Feliform Melee Attacker from the Life element. At level 1 her stats are 3 Melee Attack, 2 Speed, 6 Armor, 8 HP. Her first ability is True Strike. At level 2 she gains her second ability - Relentless Strike . At level 3 She gains her 3rd ability - Swiftness. At level 5 she gains 1 point in the melee attack section for a total of 4. Finally at level 6 she has 4 Melee Attack, 3 Speed, 7 Armor and 10 HP. She also gains her final ability - Execute.

or Commander Slade:

Commander Slade. He's a real powerhouse in term of dodging attacks and striking back the enemies though his abilities. At max level he has 5 Melee Attack, 6 Speed, 10 Hp and 7 Armor, and the following abilities - Enffeble, Dodge, Deflect and Backfire.

So, the way either of them is used in the combo is for them to be played as an off-tank behind the Silverblade Fighter, and then Elias has to grant them Armor Strike and Piercing. This, together with any additional armor buffs, enables them to sometimes inflict massive amounts of damage to any enemy that stands in their way. In the case of Sifu, with her True Strike and Relentless Strike, combined with Execute, Armored Strike and Piercing literally evaporates unsuspecting enemies. It's really satisfying to watch when you see it action. When you play Slade on the other hand, if the battle goes not as well as expected, Slade can always pull you out of the pit with a couple of strategic dodges and backfires. Depending on the enemy line-up, sometimes Slade could be the better choice, even though Leolin Sifu definitely hits harder than Slade. Also another plus for Slade is that he has Deflection out of the box, so he's not bothered by Thorns or Corrosive Ward.
