Brawl Report 4 - We got 2nd!

This brawl marked the fourth brawl I have with The Guild of Kingshaven, a guild I have just joined recently.

The conditions are the same as the previous 3 brawls, novice level battle using only Chaos Legion units. Here are the summaries of how my battles went:

Battle 1: WIN

There is only 2 splinters choice here, either Death or Dragon. I went with Dragon as I like to have more choices on units here plus the I thought the added Slow against the opponent would help me.

It didn't start well though as I quickly lost my Fiend and then Sapper in quick succession but thankfully to Carnage Titan and the gladiator Damon, I successfully break the opponent frontline and proceed to clear from there on. Carnage Titan is definitely the MVP in this battle.

Battle 2: LOSE

I don't really like low mana battles these days. 15 mana with Explosive Weaponry and only 2 splinter choices here, Fire and Life. Was caught off guard as it means I can't use Death for low mana better. My brain freeze for a while on what to do and then I decided to go with offensive with speed. I ended up with choosing Life and putting in Time Mage and Arbalest, hoping to start first and kill off the opponent asap. Didn't expect the opponent to use Striker and it killed off my 2 low hp offensive unit with one shot... 😥

Battle 3: WIN

Both me and my opponent has almost the same setup in this battle except I have a Fiend added. It will make the difference here if you watched the full battle. The Fiend will add as an additional buffer for my Lurker while his Lurker is exposed to attack. This is why it is usually important to have Fiends or Chicken to fill up your lineup if you have free slots.

Battle 4: WIN

Even Stevens 99 mana matches. Wanted to chose Water splinter but realised there isn't many high mana Water units to use with Even Stevens ruleset so ended up going with Dragon+Earth combo. The main reason is I wanted to use Chaos Dragon to spray magic into into the opponent backline. However as it turns out, the Chaos Dragon wasn't effective at all as instead of killing off units, it chose to hit unit with hp enough to suffer its attack. Thankfully Gobson was there to clean it up. Gobson, reliable as usual.

Battle 5: WIN

44 Mana matches with Close Range ruleset. I decided to go with Earth again this time (cause I wanted to use Gobson again). The opponent also uses Earth splinter and put Peryton at the last position. Wow... this makes life very difficult for Gobson as she has problem hitting the bird. Did still manage to win but it shows that Peryton is a good counter to Gobson!

Battle 6: WIN

Even Stevens ruleset again and only 2 splinters to chose. I went for Life and go for a offensive lineup with Arbalest, Prismologist and gladiator Lightfoot as the main attacker. I put Lightfoot at the last position to protect Arbalest against sneak. But the fact is both Life and Death don't have CL sneak units. 😅

Still it was too much offensive power from me on my opponent and by round 2 I already wiped out his team without a single lost of unit on my side.

I managed to get 5 Wins out of 6 this time round. Again pretty satisfied with my result. But it is becoming pretty stressful trying to keep it up.

What was delightful though is as a guild we have managed to clinch the 2nd position, the best I have seen since I joined! 😀
