62% to Maxing Out Rebellion Soulbound Set
We are almost at the end of the ranked play season at Splinterlands, and it's time to see my progress on maxing out my Rebellion soulbound reward cards.
For the second season in a row I didn't have enough Glint to buy all Epic + Rare + Common draws.
Unlike the previous season, I didn't have a special luck when it comes to my pulls from the tier advancement chests, the best cards being 2x epic Night Reapers, by rarity.
I could burn some GF cards for Glint to be able to buy all Common draws every season, but I think that would be a bad choice for several reasons:
- commons benefit the most from pulls from tier advancement chests
- I will likely need to burn some GFs and/or doubles at the end to be able to max out the set, and they will be needed more then than now
- cards can be used in the meantime in survival mode or maybe even in my main play deck
So, let's see what I did with the Glint this season.
I had no Glint to purchase more legendary draws this time around, but I was able to buy all 25 epic draws, 100 rare draws, and only 344 common draws (still, 57 more than last season). I have no more Glint in my stash to use next season.
That makes it easy to see how much Glint I earned this season (including the season rewards from last season). That makes it a total of 314,100 Glint used for draw purchases this season (+0 remaining in my stash for a total of 314,100). Last season I had a total of 305,550 Glint in purchases. That means I spent 8,550 more Glint this season.
Let's keep a table too, going forward:
Season since New SB Set | Glint Used to Purchase Draws | Difference |
---|---|---|
Season 5 | 363,200 | |
Season 6 | 344,400 | -18,800 Glint |
Season 7 | 352,700 | +8,300 Glint |
Season 8 | 341,850 | -10,850 Glint |
Season 9 | 328,100 | -13,750 Glint |
Season 10 | 427,500 | +99,400 Glint |
Season 11 | 462,500 | +35,000 Glint |
Season 12 | 322,500 | -140,000 Glint |
Season 13 | 305,550 | -16,950 Glint |
Season 14 (current) | 314,100 | 8,550 Glint |
Last 3 seasons' average | 314,050 |
Let's see what my current situation of the Rebellion SB set completion progress is so far:
Season since New SB Set | Commons % | Rares % | Epics % | Legendaries % |
---|---|---|---|---|
Season 1 | 1 / 0 | 2 / 0 | 8 / 0 | 9 / 0 |
Season 2 | 2 / 1 | 2 / 0 | 9 / 0 | 17 / 0 |
Season 3 | 3 / 1 | 2 / 0 | 10 / 0 | 23 / 0 |
Season 4 | 5 / 2 | 3 / 1 | 12 / 0 | 27 / 0 |
Season 5 | 7 / 2 | 4 / 2 | 13 / 0 | 36 / 0 |
Season 6 | 8 / 3 | 5 / 2 | 15 / 0 | 42 / 0 |
Season 7 | 9 / 3 | 6 / 2 | 15 / 0 | 51 / 0 |
Season 8 | 10 / 3 | 7 / 2 | 17 / 0 | 58 / 0 |
Season 9 | 10 / 3 | 7 / 2 | 24 / 1 | 61 / 0 |
Season 10 | 19 / 5 | 14 / 4 | 31 / 4 | 63 / 0 |
Season 11 | 28 / 6 | 22 / 4 | 39 / 6 | 65 / 0 |
Season 12 | 37 / 8 | 29 / 5 | 47 / 9 | 65 / 0 |
Season 13 | 44 / 9 | 37 / 5 | 54 / 11 | 67 / 0 |
Season 14 (current) | 52 / 11 | 45 / 5 | 62 / 11 | 67 / 0 |
That's +0% to the progress of legendary cards, +8% progress to epic cards (and +0% to epic GF), +8% progress to rare cards (and +0% to the rare GF), and 8% progress to the common cards (and +2% to the common GF).
The strategy is still epic first, rare second, common third, legendary forth, until I max out a card from the first 3 rarities. Not enough Glint for additional progress on Legendary cards this season, not even to buy all common draws.
Here are the "before and after" snapshots for the Rebellion SB epic cards, which are my current main focus. "Before" first:
1 at level 5, 5 at level 4, 1 at level 3
And now the current levels of the epic cards...
My Rebellion SB epic cards: 3 at level 5, 3 at level 4, 1 at level 3.
This season, 2 (regular) epic card have been upgraded to level 5.
Perhaps a more relevant metric is the amount of Glint already spent compared to the total amount needed to max out the SB set (only regulars).
Here' s my situation:
8,790,000 Glint
Glint value of the cards collected so far (ignore GF and doubles):
** 5,453,800** Glint
Progress percentage:
62.05%
Estimated^ time to max out the RF cards (or GF, where possible):
10 more seasons (5 months, i.e. mid-August)
^) estimation now includes tier advancement rewards (average last 3 seasons); estimation doesn't account for Glint wasted on pulling doubles of maxed out cards or GF instead of RF (where GF card level isn't high enough)
Last season's Glint value of cards collected: 5,109,400.
Difference: 344,400 Glint-worth of cards this season, including tier advancement rewards.
Season since New SB Set | Glint-Worth of Cards (including Tier Advancement Rewards) | Difference |
---|---|---|
Season 7 | 414,550 | - |
Season 8 | 368,400 | -46,150 Glint |
Season 9 | 328,850 | -39,550 Glint |
Season 10 | 388,350 | +59,700 Glint |
Season 11 | 446,250 | +57,900 Glint |
Season 12 | 330,600 | -115,650 Glint |
Season 13 | 407,400 | +76,800 Glint |
Season 14(current) | 344,400 | -63,000 Glint |
Last 3 seasons' average | 360,800 |

Since you're accumulating both regular and gold foil, your progress will be slower, although the advantage is that you can play survival mode with the excess of cards you have. You'll need way more Glints to accomplish your goals
I'm not really accumulating GF. But as they come out, I keep them for the time being. They may be useful in Survival, or, as it was the case with very few from the former set, I was able to max them, and burn the RF instead. But now, things are more complicated, because Survival needs more cards, while to max out the set I will probably need to burn some of the GF and doubles toward the end. It won't be easy to decide what will be better to do.
At the end you'll probably need to burn GF as you've said. For me. It's harder getting GF epic not to talk of getting it regular. But if one is patient, a maxed out GF is a thing of beauty.
I don't think I have a maxed GF epic in the previous set. Only common and rare. But they are good too.
I have GFL max level from the previous set. Just one though. Biggest achievement from the last reward set..
That's really cool!
Nice Progress, With the Legendaries having a 2 days cooldown I plan to switch my focus more toward them. I kind of started keeping the Gold foil cards with an eye on Survival mode but I don't think I used a single one of them yet there.
Good luck in the new season!
I'll soon have my first maxed out epic card(s), and with that I'll probably give more attention to Legendaries again, although not fully. I still have a good ground to cover for the other rarities. I kept all GF so far for this SB set, but like you, they haven't been very helpful with Survival much yet. It's true, the problem is with not enough higher level summoners slated for Survival, in my case.
Good luck to you too!

honestly i think only epics are worth it
With so many use cases lately, I think they all are, to some degree.
Nice progress. You are doing quite well on upgrading those cards, and I think your choice of picks are good too. I have been grabbing some legendary cards though, because I want to get at least 1 BCX of every single one.
That's likely a good choice, even though people say legendaries aren't as good in this set. They are more expensive, that's sure. I've seen older cards which didn't seem to be very powerful/useful come back in a big way in the past. So, I prefer to max out everything, if possible.
I need to have 59 more to complete my Epic Collection. I might stop with Epic Draws if I start seeing too many duplicates.
Nice! You have Olivia maxed out. Mine seems frozen at level 3, lol.
