Blood Bank Strategy: How Heloise the Hollow thrives on her Team's Life Force

Hello Splinter nerds

Heloise the Hollow.jpg

Congratulations to those who own a copy of Heloise the Hollow, because we may never have a monster like her again. She is a special card, both in prize and battle prowess.

I checked the market today and only saw 1 Regular foil listed. Only 100 copies were minted, and for players to hold on to their copies means the card is worth having, and I can attest to that 100%.

Heloise the Hollow has 5 unique abilities.

Taunt - It becomes the main target for the opponent team, but this does not affect the monsters with reach, wingbreak, scattershot, and the monster in the first position.

Opportunity: - It targets the monster with the lowest health.

Spite: This is one of the abilities that makes her deadly. When it gets defeated, it has a 100% chance to counterattack, which puts her killer at a big disadvantage.

Soul Siphon: Only Heloise has this ability, which is what makes her special. When it dies, as long as there is a non-weary monster on her team, she will self-resurrect with 100% Armor and 50% Health rounded down.

Last word: This ability was recently added when a new ability was released in the conclave arcana edition called Final Rest. Last word is immune to the final rest ability; it is a special card, and an ability like final rest should not have an effect on it.

Heloise the Hollow is good, but when combined with certain summoners, it becomes better! And one of those summoners is Risqruel Drath [ a legendary fire dual summoner].

Drath has 2 pairs of abilities, the first pair is Impede & True strike which can be given to 2 out of the monsters summoned by it, while the second pair is Taunt and Redemption, which can only be given to one monster.

Both pairs work greatly for Heloise the Hollow, and it is the rules of the battle and the opponent team that determines the one selected.

I was paired with Lastsword in a 3 ruleset.

The first rule indicates that all magic and ranged attackers attack the first non-melee unit in the opponent team, the second rule indicates we can only summon units with 3 or more speed, and the last rule indicates all units have the camouflage ability so they can not be targeted unless they are in the first position.

When I saw the opponent team during the pre-battle, I had to think twice before selecting one of the stats of Drath. Normally, I would have gone for the taunt and redemption, but after analyzing, I changed my mind. The opponent used Lorkus and then came up with Kelan Gaines and Venka the vile. These two monsters have great speed, and there is a high chance of Heloise missing her attack on them, so to make sure that doesn't happen, I chose the true strike and Impede stats.

I made the right decision cos it worked for me, and here is my tactic explained below.

My formation

Halfling Refugee was my first monster, and I used it because it only takes 1 mana and it is a strong tank with its healing ability, while Heloise the Hollow which is the monster in the second position is the one I rely on to win this battle and it didn't dissapoint me with its soul siphon and spite ability.

Thunderhoof Nomad is the third monster, and it was used for its triage and deflect ability, while the fourth monster was Fenmoor Platypus, used mainly for its rust ability, which was to take away 2 armor from all the opponent team, so Heloise would not have anything disturbing it during attack.*

Sylvaran Sentinel was the fifth monster, the heloise combo is not fully complete without this monster because of its resurrect ability, and lastly is Blackmoor Jinx, a one mana card that helps to fill the last space.

All the monsters I used, except the Halfling Refugee, were only used to feed Heloise the Hollow, so it can consume their health when it gets killed, and it worked perfectly... The opponent stood no chance after I eliminated his Kelan and Venka.

You presented the entire battle brilliantly! The way you explained the use of each card was amazing. I've been playing this game for a while now, so I learned a lot from reading the article.
