Another week has flown by in the world of Conclave Arcana, and while things have been a bit quieter on the news front, the action never really stops. Pack sales are still going strong, and thanks to the awesome work by @currypieker, we can now keep track of all the juicy stats in style over at https://elmo-burns.com/packstats. But now let’s get to the fun part — my own wild week in Splinterlands.

Decisions, Decisions... Land or Cards?

If you’ve been following my posts, you’ll know I’ve been wrestling with a decision lately: Should I invest more into land or double down on Conclave Arcana packs? I’ve got some extra fiat/cash coming in, and it’s been bugging me. Both have solid potential, but I didn’t want to go all-in on just one.

So... I went with a balanced approach. Consensus model! Some land, some CA — keep it diversified and fun.

Six New Rare Plots? Yes Please!

I ended up scooping six rare plots, and yeah, I paid a bit more than the market floor ($29.88 each while the lowest were around $24-25), but these were in the same region. That kind of convenience and synergy was worth the premium for me. I also grabbed 6 Power Cores, a few units, and even rented some to get them operational right away. Before I knew it, they were being cleared — one by one. Boom!

There’s something so satisfying about seeing your plots light up and start working. Especially now that we know the long-term potential of land, I think I made the right call going in at this level.

50 Packs on the Wagon... And Then the Unexpected Happened

With the leftover funds, I treated myself to 50 Standard CA packs, which are now parked and ready for Conflict Wagons (if I can keep my hands off them). But then I had that little voice in my head whispering: "Just open one... what’s the worst that could happen?"

So I gave in and opened a single standard pack.
Just a casual click and...

BOOM — A BLACK FOIL!!!

I couldn’t believe it. A Black Foil from one standard pack, and I didn’t even use Midnight Potions. I literally forgot to turn them on. That’s the Splinterlands thrill right there — you never know when you’ll hit the jackpot, and when it happens, it’s electric.

The question then became: Sell or stake on land? Since I only had a single copy and couldn’t use it in battle effectively, I ended up placing it on one of my new plots. That 5x bonus to Production Points is no joke — it slashed my clearing time from 7 days down to just 4 days. Talk about working smarter, not harder.

What's Next? The Pickle Is Coming

Now let’s talk about the next card drop — Yaba’s Pickle.

This funky new card will be available in three foil versions:

• Regular Foil
• Gold Foil – 2% drop rate (4% with Alchemy Potions)
• Black Foil – 1 in 4,000 drop rate (1 in 2,000 with Midnight Potions)

Each card will cost 150 DEC or 150 Credits and will only be available for 30 days. Gold and Black Foils are exclusive to this sale window, so if you’re chasing that rarity flex, this is your time.

Revenue will be split 50/50 between Splinterlands and the DAO — a nice touch for the community.

Oh, and there’s an SPS snapshot coming. For every 1,000 SPS you have staked at the time of the snapshot, you’ll be able to buy one card. That got me moving — I rounded out my SPS stack to a clean 400K, which should let me pick up a max copy. Now I just need to save 60K DEC to make the purchase.

The Gold Foil Arcane are done via a new machanics/raffle:

200 Aura, 10 Vouchers, and 200 DEC

The Conflicts

I honestly cannot wait for the Conflicts to start. I’m itching to rip open more packs, but I’m holding back (kinda). The chase is real, especially after pulling that Black Foil. Even when it’s “just” a common, the value is huge — both on the battlefield and on land.

So yeah, maybe the news has slowed down a bit, but for me, this week was packed (pun intended) with action, decisions, and that good ol’ Splinterlands excitement.
