Splinterlands Social Media Challenge - Rare Gems!
Hello to all Splinterlands warriors!
Original Challenge announcement post is here
For this week's Splinterlands challenge, I've chosen to make my second and rare glint purchase. I used the Glint rewards earned during Ranked Play to obtain amazing rewards. They say in their challenge post to post something nothing short of amazing, so I purchased a few rare draws and extracted some explosive cards from them.
Last week I was only able to shop for the common draws, but later I also shopped for a few rare draws, and I am even more excited to see the cards that came out because apart from the cards delegated by Brave, all the other cards I have are very basic. So it is a good feeling to buy something with the currency that is earned in the game by playing and winning battles.
For all the new players who don't know about the Glint Shop, I would like to tell you that for every battle you win in ranked play, you get some random Glint token rewards along with SPS tokens, which keep increasing as your ranking increases. You can see this Glint reward on the Ranked Battle page itself, and right below it is the Shop button from where you can buy various rarity draws, which, on opening, give you random but exciting cards, which as far as I know you cannot trade and delegate as they are soulbound but you can use these cards on the battleground to improve your game strategies.

Above are two Life element cards that I received in rare draws from the Glint Shop. Until now, I've been forced to use the Life element in my battles because I mostly have basic cards in this element. However, after receiving these two cards, I'll likely be teambuilding with this element as well. Previously, I didn't even have a tank in this element. Now, White Leopard will be a good tank position in my lineup.
Furthermore, I liked Janni Rebel more because it can be placed in place of a tank to utilise its flank ability. However, that positioning will only be useful if I have another melee card without the Reach ability. Beyond that, placing it somewhere in the middle of the line-up can strengthen all the melee cards on the team because its Inspire ability grants +1 melee power to all allied melee cards in the line-up. So if I look at these two cards as per my requirement, I like both the cards, and both of them will be useful to me because, as I told you, I have very few cards in this element, but if I think from a long-term perspective, then it seems that Janni Rebel will prove to be a more useful card.

Above are two Water element cards, also obtained through rare draws from the Glint Shop. I have some super-powerful cards in the Water element to place at the top of my line-up, but they're all delegated by Brave, which won't be part of my deck forever. Therefore, these cards from the rare draw hold significance for me. Commander Slade was particularly popular, as despite being a Level 1 card, its stats are astonishing. I've already tested this card's powers in a few battles, and the result is that most often, if this card is on the battleground, the enemy's defeat is almost certain. However, this element has been used in most battles, so there are many other cards with which I've developed some effective strategies.
I've previously owned a Tank in this element, which I won while climbing the rankings. That card was quite good, but this one is even more powerful and has proven itself so far. The most amazing feature of this card is its speed and its Enfeeble ability, which reduces the target's melee power by -1 after every successful attack. Furthermore, I haven't seen or noticed much use of its second dodge ability, but overall, it's a great card that will make my battles even more exciting.
This shopping experience was completely new but exciting for me, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'd especially like to remind all new players that you only need to purchase the Spell book once, after which you can unlock numerous rewards in the game. You'll definitely need more powerful cards to progress quickly, but if you enjoy the game and progress, you can earn many rare, epic, and even legendary cards by reinvesting the rewards earned from playing games here.
You won't be able to trade the cards earned in the Glint Shop because they are soulbound, but you can use them to improve your game and climb the rankings, increasing your rewards percentage. You can't win battles with the same cards for long, so it's important to keep adding better cards to your deck from time to time, as the weather in this game is constantly changing. :)
This is my little game knowledge. I may be wrong, and in that case, I will be happy to learn from you. Thank you! :)
