DIY: Beautiful shopping bags inspired by Madcap Magus (Eng - Esp)
Greetings friends who love threads and needles, I wish you have an excellent and blessed week, this time I share the making of a nice project very useful to carry in your purse and go shopping; For Mother's Day I sewed several fruit bags for a friend, which her coworkers liked and made some orders, as I had fabric at home I took advantage and made new bags inspired by the Splinterlands characters taking as reference the orange and green colors that the Madcap Magus, has they are very practical fruits that take up little space in your purse and when you open it you have a nice bag to carry your purchases, I invite you to join me in the making process
Saludos amigos amantes de los hilos y agujas, deseo que tengan una excelente y bendecida semana, en esta ocasión comparto la elaboración de un lindo proyecto muy útil para llevar en la cartera y hacer las compras; para el día de las madres cosí varias bolsas frutales para una amiga, las cuales le gustaron a las compañeras de trabajo y me hicieron algunos pedidos, como tenía en casa tela aproveché e hice nuevas bolsas inspiradas en los personajes de Splinterlands tomando como referencia los colores naranja y verde que lleva el Madcap Magus, son unas frutas muy prácticas que ocupan poco espacio en la cartera y al abrirla tienes una linda bolsa para llevar las compras, les invito me acompañen en el proceso de elaboración

I started cutting the pieces; two rectangles of 50 x 40 centimeters, for the front and back, two squares of 16 x 16 centimeters, to assemble the fruit, two rectangles of 9 x 50 centimeters, for the handles and two rectangles of 18 x 8 centimeters that will serve as a tunnel for the cord.
Inicié cortando las piezas; dos rectángulos de 50 x 40 centímetros, para la parte delantera y posterior, dos cuadrados de 16 x 16 centímetros, para ensamblar la fruta, dos rectángulos de 9 x 50 centímetros, para las asas y dos rectángulos de 18 x 8 centímetros que servirán de tunel para el cordón.
I then folded the squares in half and formed four triangles (two for each bag), then I sewed a hem on the ends of the rectangles that will form the tunnel, folded them in half and joined them to the triangles using straight stitch.
Luego doblé los cuadrados por la mitad y formé cuatro triángulos (dos para cada bolsa), además cosí un dobladillo en los extremos de los rectángulos que formarán el tunel, los doblé por la mitad y los uní a los triángulos usando puntada recta.
To make the handles, I sewed the 9 x 50 centimeter rectangles together, right sides together, turned them over, and then repeated the sides to reinforce them.
Para hacer las asas, cosí los rectángulos de 9 x 50 centímetros, enfrentando los derechos, volteé y repisé los lados para reforzar.
With pins I pinned and sewed the triangles in one of the corners of the rectangles that will form the bag, placing them in such a way that they coincide when facing the pieces to assemble the fruit.
Con alfileres sujeté y cosí los triángulos en una de las esquinas de los rectángulos que formarán la bolsa, colocándolos de tal forrmaquee coincidan al enfrentar las piezas y así ensamblar la fruta.
Once the triangles were glued, I faced the front and back pieces on the right side, pinned them together, sewed the sides, the bottom and turned them over.
Pegados los triángulos, enfrenté por el derecho las piezas delantera y posterior, sujeté con alfileres, cosí por los lados, la parte inferior y volteé.
The next step was to sew the handles leaving a margin of 12 centimeters from the sides to the center, then I folded 2 centimeters inwards at the top, placed the handles and sewed with a straight stitch.
El siguiente paso fue coser las asas dejando un margen de 12 centímetros desde los lados hacia el centro, luego doblé 2 centímetros hacia adentro en la parte superior, coloqué las asas y cosí con puntada recta.
Once the bags were sewn, I cut two strips of cord of 50 centimeters each, with a pin I passed it through the upper tunnel of the triangle, I made a knot in the ends and burned with the tinder for a better finish and security of the knot, with these simple ones the fruit bags are finished.
Cosidas las bolsas, corté dos tiras de cordón de 50 centímetros cada una, con un alfiler lo pasé por el tunel superior del triángulo, hice un nudo en las puntas y quemé con el yesquero para un mejor acabado y seguridad del nudo, con estos sencillos están terminadas las bolsas frutales.
These bags are very useful for shopping and can be carried comfortably in the purse, for its preparation you can combine the colors of your choice, I hope the tutorial will be useful.
