Nerdy Mails: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

Ok, so it's hard for me to fathom that most of you who are reading this; do not know who Clint Eastwood is - so I am going to go with the assumption you do.

untitled.gif

Ok, this is not a @cinetv post, but I have to give them a shout out; because hey it's CineTV.

Anyway, the weekend has come and gone and although I remain active all 7 days on HIVE Saturday and Sundays are not as full force; because the time is limited and I value my personal time with Tiffany and there are just chores we have to do. She still has two young boys and if they are not with their father, we have to go the extra mile and make sure they are taken care of in many ways.

With all that said, I'm doing something on HIVE and at the very least some HIVE TWITTER sharing.

LISTNERD DIVIDER.png

Going into the a new week, it's important for me to hit the ground running like Dirty Harry is chasing me. So I always have part of my brain focusing on what I'm going to post, etc.

Today's post is easy, because now that I spend a lot of my time using ListNerds to elevate my HIVE interactions and increase my numbers; I rather enjoy creating content and being - NERDY -

To that end, I wanted to cover the mail messages themselves and what type of emails are falling into the category of The Good emails, The Bad emails and the Ugly emails from my daily activity.

Now, there is a huge disclaimer.

I am accustomed to seeing many of these type of emails off-chain that fall under the same categories; but what separates ListNerds from ALL THE OTHERS is that it's on a blockchain - the HIVE blockchain. So it's safe to say that my post will be HIVE centric - no surprise to most of you, I'm sure.

LISTNERD DIVIDER.png

I'm no expert, but you can check out my "BY THE NUMBERS" stats below and believe I earned some leeway; in providing an informed opinion.

The Good

Everyday, I'm seeing the transformation of the type of mails I go through. How the approach to messages have evolved into a more personal tone and at the very least a creative gate to their messages.

HIVERS have taken to send out mails that leads to their HIVE posts and I can tell you without question; I am rarely not super happy that a nerd mail took me to a post that would have been a shame to have missed it otherwise.

Another cool trend that I've noticed, is sending mails to older HIVE posts, so although you may not earn from it through upvotes; you may earn gifts - but more importantly - MORE or NEW engagement to your post.

Using Canva to creating snazzy looking mails is a good one, although it can distract from the message - at least folks are being creative. I would tone this down a bit and keep it simpler - but that's just my opinion.

It's extremely important to note, this mailer existed before the HIVE blockchain and before it was ever thought to be on one. We still have many old school marketers that do a great job off-chain as well as on-chain to grow their subscribers list, downlines and their brand. There is no need to fix was not broken, so they don't; what they have done - is an excellent job of bridging the two.

Which is what the CTP team has essentially done and have brought forth a heckuva a tool for online marketers and HIVERS.

LISTNERD DIVIDER.png

The Bad

If you come from the online marketing world, then it's a trend that never dies; but that is detrimental for most new marketers. At it's basic, they are promoting the same affiliate page that hundreds, if not thousands of others are doing as well - how does that put you in a position to succeed?

It's like paying rent and paying off someone else's mortgage.

What blows my mind is that it is still happening and not a little - A LOT - and I still see it on the ListNerds platform as well. To be fair, I'm sure there are many who are still not sold on HIVE and have not been open-minded about it; so they continue the status quo.

Whether you are on-chain or off-chain, you are spinning your wheels.

Being on HIVE, you can share someone else’s post or whatever message they are pointing to with one of your mails and benefit. You will get more activity and more action taken.

Continuing to put up the same affiliate page in every mail will probably get drowned out and yes, will get clicks; because folks want to earn from the platform - but how is that helping you long-term and your own journey towards growth?

If the product or service you believe in is great and you want the world to know about it. Promote it as if it was your own and be creative about it. Let your messages be about you using the product or service and build stories off of that and send emails about it and you will get much more activity. Just my opinion.

The Ugly

untitled.gif

The links that don't work. That go nowhere. That goes to blank pages. Broken links. Broken tracking links. Links that go to pages that take foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrr to open. NO BUENO!

There is a way to test your links. It's a pretty big button:

preview.png

untitled.gif

Hey broken links happens to all of us, but if we are checking the Preview and clicking on the links we are adding, including the images; there is a pretty good chance - most of your mails will go through and work well.

Honorable mention on the bad: no war and peace type messages. If you are going to put everything in the mail what is the point of trying to get folks to the bigger picture of what you want folks to interact with outside of the mail?

Just my opinion.

I earned another ListNerds token claim today. It's been a few days of consecutive claiming, which is nice to have a good streak going:

LN claim 02.28.22.png

This put me over the top and I made it to #1 on the LISTNERDS Richlist. As short of a reign that may be, I'm super stoked to have reached it:

With today being the end of the month, it's safe to say; I had an awesome month of February as a Nerdy 🤓

The people doing V2K want me to believe it is this lady @battleaxe Investigate what she has been up to for 5 years. Its the next step to stopping this. Make her prove where she has been for 5 years or where she is now. She is involved deeply with @fyrstikken and his group. Her discord is Battleaxe#1003. I cant say she is the one directly doing the v2k. Make her prove it. They have tried to kill me and are still trying to kill me. I bet nobody does anything at all. Make @battleaxe prove it. I bet she wont. They want me to believe the v2k in me is being broadcasted from her location. @battleaxe what is your location? https://ecency.com/fyrstikken/@fairandbalanced/i-am-the-only-motherfucker-on-the-internet-pointing-to-a-direct-source-for-voice-to-skull-electronic-terrorism

Ok, this is not a @cinetv post, but I have to give them a shout out; because hey it's CineTV.

Shouting back at ya! haha

To me the most annoying thing out there is those exact mails you mention, the same stuff every single day, I don't believe they even make an effort trying to change the email. I personally don't read it anymore, click and straight to the bin!

And I'm not sure if you're referring to my emails with too much info in it, if so that's fine. I'm still in the process of trying out what works, and it all depends on how my inspiration flows that day as well. I have noticed that the bigger sized emails (a4 I think it is) do MUCH better in terms of clicks and upvotes than the smaller sized ones though. And I personally don't do well summing stuff up in a tiny block of text. Just some self-knowledge :)

I'm happy to see more fresh emails appear every day, and today a ref of mine signed up for enterprise so I can't wait until he also gets to experience the feeling of the enterprise rewards!

@thisismylife - you have become one of the people folks should be learning from using ListNerds and the other stuff you are crushing!

Lol, well I'll take that as a no :)
But either way, that would be fine as I too still have to decide on the best strategy myself. On top of that, I'm currently super super busy this week to research what our future move to Spain would cost and that means I may write less.

But I do keep track of the numbers, and I think that's super important to improve. I've seen you mention that before as well, comparing the different content and amount of votes can tell you something.

I enjoy the journey a lot though! Started writing an ebook about it :)

Have a great week ahead!

Oh lol @thisismylife - not necessarily yours, because you were the first HIVER to be bold enough to use them and yes the smaller the better. Spain? Yes! That sounds AWESOME and totally looking forward to the e-book, sign me up 😉

Personal life is very important. I don't think work, regardless of what the work is, should pre-empt personal life. You worked your Hive activities in and had your personal life. Perfevt! Keep it up you are doing great.

Thank you for this post, I joined NerdList less than 24 hours ago and already going to get the Enterprise membership. Reading the part about Hive posts is good since that's where I am planning to focus by creating "entertaining" mails.

Really good post Jimmy. With all of the new members joining ListNerds, I feel it is important to bring some of these topics to light. It is also a good reminder to the veterans as well. Good job on balancing home and work. If we ignore our families then what are we working for anyway?

Thanks @salexa5 - being first on the list is cool. I’m sure it won’t last long, but cool nevertheless.

I have noticed more Hive posts and I think the ratio is like 30% or 40% now instead of the 20% before. The engagement factor is quite amazing on listnerds.

Blows my mind....At how some of the more experienced marketers that I see using ListNerds, have refused to jump onboard the Hive train.

And still continue to send those awful pitch emails day after day....Some with links that don't even work. I think they are in the habit of mediocracy. And love being average.

@jongolson you have been preaching that even before HIVE 🤣 You can’t get blood from a rock, but some will come around like some of us have 💪🏽🐝

Hope you do not mind me going a bit off-topic, but since you brought up CineTV, I wrote my 1st post there today. It has already started earning upvotes 😃 Now I can say I get paid for watching Doctor Who. Isn't that the craziest thing you have ever heard of?

Hey Jimmy! I love how you talked about the good, the bad and the ugly in what you came across in the Listnerds emails. And I agree, it's really ugly to see a broken link when there's an easy way like the preview to check your link. I also don't like if the landing page takes forever to load. If it doesn't load in a few seconds, I'm out of there.

Awesome @jimmy.adames great post about Listnerds
I'm sold where do i sign up, hmm Wait, no that is where i just came from 🤣
Will be honest i am just only understanding now
Posted out twice yesterday for the first time 😎
Got about 136 Listnerds so far in total not bad, will be more consistent in the future.
If people post affiliate links i think it is OK it is up to them and sometimes people don't want to join a list they just want product information.
People posting broken links though repeatedly i dunno man that's called something OK 😜🤣
