If I Could Heal Just One

Over the few years that I have been living, I have seen a series of sicknesses that have done worse than affecting the body; those sicknesses have shaken different families, drained them financially, and now, their spirits are broken. Some sickness can be so brutal that no amount of prayers, operations, or even herbs and drugs can reduce the pain, but those things just need to be done. Having the experience of someone who is very dear to you gradually slip away is a hole that can never be filled in your heart.

So, if I have the ability to provide or create a cure for any illness, I will put that power to use by creating a cure for cancer. I chose this because not that the rest of the illness isn't doing worse, but cancer is now very common in our world today, and it has turned the strongest men feeble and even taken the brightness of vibrant women.

I could remember the very lively woman that I used to be back then. She battled with breast cancer for a long time, and every time we thought that she was getting better, that deadly illness ate her up. The way she was always lively was reduced drastically; I could always see that pain in the face of her husband until she gave up the ghost, and even her daughter, who was a close friend, started looking older than her age due to stress.

Cancel does not only take away lives; it takes the happiness and joy completely away before death finally comes knocking at the door. It dries up hope and even eats up money. And in my beloved nation, where it is very hard to get proper health care and some cannot even afford it, being diagnosed with such an illness already seems like a death sentence.

So, like I said before, I will choose to provide a permanent cure for cancer if I have the power because, apart from saving the lives of people, I will also be saving them money, saving the dreams that die so soon, and bringing laughter to the faces of people, because life is already very hard and it will just be unfair for people to still suffer in so much pain like that.
