Discovering Craft ink: Cards, Colors, and Community

avatar

Up until last Saturday, I was oblivious to one of the most amazing NFT trading games right here on our beloved platform, Hive. It was introduced to us by a fellow guest, @felixxx, at the weekly Ecency Discord hangout hosted by Pravesh.

After some minutes of pitching the game, you could say my curiosity was piqued. He was kind enough to offer some free card packs to anyone interested, and I was pretty much sold after that.

So I made my way to his DM and requested the promised cards, which he sent to me. I explored the game site, did some research, and now I’m here to share my experience playing Craftink.

Review

First of all, I think it’s important to state that I am not a gamer, so I was pretty much in unfamiliar territory. I had to do some research in order to understand what was required of me, but after going through this Craft ink Tutorial, I pretty much got the hang of it.

So when I logged onto the website, I was greeted with this cool page with nice animations. The layout was quite easy to navigate; I proceeded to click the log in button. It requested my Hive username, which I inserted.

Then my page appeared. Acting on what I learned, I tapped the “open” button and was then shown where my gifted cards were stored. I dragged and dropped each one into the circle above, and on each drag and drop, five cards were revealed to me.

At the end, I’d accumulated 50 colorful cards. From my understanding, I need a minimum of fifteen fillink cards in order to participate in the season battles, but I only got four fillink cards out of the pile.

I got some item cards and character cards as well. Two fascinating cards that caught my attention were Tengolotodo’s and that of a coffee. I was surprised to see Tengo out here, looking like Avatar, the last airbender 😄. I’m a fan of the gangsta podcat as well.

Since I didn’t have enough fill-ink cards to build my team, I explored the site a bit more. Ideally, you’re required to purchase a pack of five cards for 3HBD or its equivalent in HIVE. It’s quite affordable, but then you would have no control over what cards you get.

If you want a particular card, though, such as fill-ink cards, you could head on over to the market and buy some using SWAPHIVE. I think this is more expensive, though.

My Thoughts

The idea of the game is super cool; it’s a fun way to earn rewards and tokens. I’m a fan of the color coordination as well. That could probably be because I’m a sucker for the color blue.

I love the layout; it’s user friendly and easy to navigate. Granted, I had no clue what to do when I first logged into the site, but I bet a seasoned NFT game player could quickly find their way around it.

I like how each card character’s function centers around the hive blockchain. For example, the sassy photographer who posts quality pictures on Hive 😅,

or the food blogger girl with a fork of spaghetti in her mouth. I think I’ve been her at some point in my hive journey 😅.

The characters are relatable to the average Hivian, and this quality gives the game an endearing touch.

I could tell that the game was designed very thoroughly, from the overall layout to the attention to little details. It is definitely a game worth playing!

This review will not be complete if I don’t acknowledge the brains and muscles behind Craftink. @smooms @quekery @ravenmus1c @bubblegif and @mary-me kudos and keep up the good work!

Thanks for reading🤗

I get sick in my eyes whenever I seee professional talks on games.
Don't know why I just became hard on games.

Happy gaming
