San Domenico's Lake - Abruzzo - Italy

Today I want to show you some pics about the region where I live: Abruzzo - Italy!

Along a rocky path you will arrive...

...in the town of Scanno.
A quiet village in the Apennine mountains in central Italy.🗻

Here is the city clock that tells us the time has come to seek out awesome landscapes!🗺

We resume our path, the rustle of the leaves show us the way.🍃

Here we are! The San Domenico's Lake, like a precious stone, shines in the mountains.✨

On the shores of the lake is the hermitage of san domenico.
Around the year 1000 the Benedictine monk San Domenico lived there.
Legend has it that along the way he tamed a wolf, who had kidnapped an infant from his cradle, while his parents were chopping wood in the woods. The miracle was reproduced on votive canvases on the porch of the hermitage.
