Legends in the Making: My Origin Story Milestones
I've shared a similar blog in the past, but looking back at some of my early highlights in Splinterlands always brings a sense of nostalgia. When I first started, I was a complete beginner, no real understanding of the mechanics, just diving in and playing for the fun of it. However, after about a week of consistent gameplay, I gradually began to understand the basics. From there, I steadily improved, learning through experience and adapting to the competitive gameplay of the matches. It was a journey of growth, from clueless battles to strategic decision-making. And of course some of it are luck match or unexpected win.
Every champion has a beginning, and every player in the game once stood as a curious rookie, wide-eyed and unsure of what lay ahead. This week’s Splinterlands Community Challenge posted by splinterlands invites us to rewind the clock and reflect on our humble origins, our milestones, and what continues to fuel our passion for the game. From those early days of trial and error to hard-earned victories and unforgettable moments, it's a chance to share where we started, what we’ve achieved, and why we keep returning to the battlefield with renewed determination. Here’s a glimpse into my personal journey through the magical and strategic realm of Splinterlands.

How I Discovered Splinterlands
Like many unexpected adventures, my journey into Splinterlands began with a casual scroll through Facebook. Among the usual updates and memes, I came across a post by Bulldog via Acad Arena offering a Spellbook Giveaway. I had already been dabbling in a few other blockchain games at the time, but this one caught my eye there was something unique about it.

The gameplay looked fast, tactical, and fun. The combination of trading card mechanics with blockchain ownership intrigued me, and seeing how passionate the community was around the game made me take that leap of faith. That giveaway post turned into hours of battles, studying the meta, and slowly building up my deck. And story goes on with Balthazar as Scholar after AcadArena.

My First Memorable Card & Battle
Every player has that one card that changes how they see the game. For me, that card was none other than Qoura Towershead. From the moment I added her to my lineup, she felt like a powerhouse. With her hybrid magic/melee damage, self-healing, Immunity, and Bloodlust she made every battle feel intense and rewarding.
I still remember my early matches where I centered my entire strategy around buffing Qoura through Martyrs and keeping her alive with supporting healers. She would wipe out opponents one by one, growing stronger every turn. It was such a rush seeing her solo remaining enemies in clutch moments it became my go-to move for a while.
That feeling of executing a perfect plan and watching it unfold exactly as expected there’s nothing like it, especially the bloodlust trigger. For now, I only have a level 4 on this card, but hopefully, by this year, I can max this by grinding more Merits or Glints.

How My Strategy Has Evolved
Back then, I played casually, learning through trial and error. I didn’t have a ton of cards, so I relied heavily on free-to-play strategies and sticking to my strengths. But my gameplay truly evolved when I became part of a guild, where I was coached as a scholar account. Usually I spam Magic unit because they are quite powerful and dominant in every specific rule set.
Having mentors guide me through lineup decisions, brawl techniques, and proper resource management changed everything. I started thinking ahead—predicting opponent lineups based on rule sets, understanding synergy, and maximizing low-mana setups.
Fast forward to today: I now actively participate in brawls, tournaments, and special events. I’ve learned to adjust quickly to new metas, use data and history to refine my plays, and balance between offensive aggression and solid defense. What used to be instinct is now strategy. And I’m proud of how far I’ve come.

What Are My Goals Now?
As of now, I’m more focused than ever on building my collection and preparing for the future. With Conclave Arcana on the horizon at the corner ready to display and new cards being released, I’m grinding hard to collect more Rebellion and core meta cards that work well in competitive lineups.
Recently, I made a bold investment: I bought a Plot of Land for just $13 because before, I believed 1 common plot was expensive. I’ve started exploring the Land 1.5 update, setting up buildings, and planning how to optimize resource production. Land gameplay adds a whole new layer of depth and passive progression, and I’m excited to grow with it.
My main goal moving forward is to stay ahead of the curve, constantly refining my card pool, still learning new strategies with new cards, and continuing to represent my guild in hope high-level play.
