From Newbie to Pro: New Splinterlands Training Mode
Experimenting with battle strategies is an important option, as new cards and abilities are being introduced in modern battles. It will help avoid the hassle and energy waste of testing new cards directly in Modern or Wild matches, allowing you to refine your strategy & skills without risking your ratings and energy. That’s where the newly introduced Training Mode comes in a game-changing feature designed to help players sharpen their skills, experiment with new strategies, and refine their gameplay without the burden of ranked modern & wild battles.
I'll be sharing my ideas based on Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge: Support Articles that I will be participating and the contents of my blog are on how Training Mode works, how to access it, the benefits of battling automated opponents, and tips to make the most out of this new option. Also, I will cover how you can utilize Ghost Cards to experiment with lineups you may not have in your collection, this is an interesting option since you can experiment with the new release card before renting or buying it if it feels to your interest and useful in most rule sets battle.
How Training Mode works and how to access it:
I believe Training Mode is designed as a test of new release cards from modern, newly added rulesets or abilities, and with of course a new strategy where players can battle against automated opponents (AI Bots) across various difficulty levels. Unlike ranked or tournament matches, Training Mode doesn’t affect your rating and energy rate. It’s purely for practice, allowing you to focus on learning and refining strategies without stressing you out or losing progress just if it is useful for you in battles and you love or interest of the card.
How to play Training Mode:
Log in to your Splinterlands account.
Navigate to the "Play Now" section on the main menu.
Click on the new "Training Mode" option.
Choose your preferred difficulty level—ranging from Easy bot to Hard for more challenging opponents that mimic real player strategy, the Allowed Cards, and Summoner Level Caps, (though I find it very hard to defeat the opponent, It's like they saw what card I will be using and predicting my moves strategy😅). I recommend using the Modern Ghost option if you don't own or rent the card you will want to use and experiment.
That's how easy it is to access training mode, Select your Splinter, build your lineup, and start experimenting!...
The benefits of playing against automated opponents at different difficulty levels:
One of the important benefits of Training Mode is the ability to face AI bot opponents with adjustable difficulty (easy, medium, and hard), providing valuable practice for you (players) of all skill levels. Since it doesn’t affect your ranking, you can freely test bold strategies & interesting strategies from your friends or social media splinterlands, experiment with new card combinations, and get comfortable with different rule sets without losing your resources, just play to your heart content. The scalable AI bot difficult based on my experience, the easy option is just a Bot that puts random cards being deployed, and the medium is like the same level as me but mostly I win in the battle, while the hard option is kinda predicts my move or what card I chooses so it's pretty hard like out of 10 matches, I only win 2 matches because of rule set are favorable to me. allows you to fine-tune tactics, simulate high-level battles, and improve strategic thinking. Additionally, Training Mode helps players master complex rule sets like Noxious Fumes, Earthquake, or Reverse Speed, while offering instant matches for consistent practice without the need to wait for an opponent.
Practice without pressure until you’re ready to take on the Adaptive Difficulty for all skill levels in AI battles, helping you Master (Become like a pro) various rule sets and battle conditions.
Tips for Using Training Mode Effectively
While Training Mode is a great feature, how you show method or approach can make all the difference in your growth...
By allowing you to focus on weaknesses, experiment without fear, analyze battle results, and practice counter-strategies. You can identify specific areas where you struggle, such as dealing with certain rule sets, countering powerful abilities, or managing mana efficiently, and work on them until you gain confidence. It’s also the perfect area to try unpredicted team compositions or strategies you’d normally avoid in ranked battles, without the risk of losing rating or rating. After each match, reviewing the battle results helps you understand what worked, what didn’t, and how abilities impacted the outcome, turning both wins and losses into learning experiences. Additionally, you can build counter-teams against strong AI bot lineups to develop effective strategies for dealing with popular meta-cards and tricky abilities like Blast, Reflection Shield, Expose, or Martyr, imrpoving your adaptability in real battles.
Training Mode’s Ghost Cards option is a useful and game-changer, allowing you to experiment with different and new release cards you don’t own, making it easier to test new strategies without investing yet, it's like testing first before buying. This is especially important if you’re considering purchasing a legendary and overpower card but want to see how it fits your playstyle strategy first. You can also experience the power of max-level cards, even if your collection isn’t fully upgraded, helping you plan future investments more strategically. Ghost Cards let you refine deck synergies across different Splinters, test out popular meta combos like Martyr with tanks or Weapons Training setups, and simulate real battle, especially new release rebellion cards (Promo & Core) they are overpowering (Venka the Vile, Grimbardun Smith, Eternal Tofu summoner, Rage, and Cryptic Summoner. They’re also perfect for Tournament and Brawl battles, allowing you to practice specific strategies even if you don’t have access to all the required cards, giving you a competitive edge without the need to rent or buy.
For new players right there, don’t just jump straight into ranked battles. Spend some time in the new Training Mode, experiment with new strategies, and watch your gameplay reach new heights.
A Big Thanks! for supporting me, being here, and coming this far. The new Training Mode is quite simple & useful for experiments. I'm hoping this blog can assist you with some of your understanding of this New Training Mode added in splinterlands.

I haven't tried this yet zactian. CaN it be used to play real players
U mean player vs player? No, only player vs bot though (try hard options, they are pretty quite challenging), if you want player vs player, challenge option is good. Maybe a challenge option would be good if they put automated play to others rather than put ign player
o.o ya player vs player will be interesting . it's ok i guess then :P nevermind haha
