Conspiracy ‘theory’ I’m convinced is a tool used by super-criminals (corporate interests, governments, cartels) to seed wild a range of ideas from what seem like plausible truths to the insanely absurd. What they don’t makeup themselves, or happen to be extraordinary truths, the mentally ill fill in the gaps. What we’re left with is an absolute distrust of virtually anything unless our peers deem it an acceptable reality - largely driven by what they hear from media etc. All this noise, allows absolutely horrific atrocities to exist in plain sight and either you believe it or like most people simply give up trying to figure out whats real, becoming desensitized to the constant flood of information. It’s so bad now, that theres a stigma around the simple idea of engaging in conspiracy theory using critical thinking, because if you do, you apparently must be a looney. When I was a kid, everybody laughed at the National Enquirer at the supermarket checkout. Now, people actually get their news from the National Enquirer. Less critical thinkers to go around?
