The Middle Ground of Spirituality

God is the subconscious mind, that constructs the environment for the ego-self to exist within
it ultimately determines which actions lead to which results, under karmic laws
The expectation of rewards after death turn moral behavior into a present source of soothing and wholesome feelings
Religion is a technology of the human spirit for bridging the gap between our mortal nature and divine potentiality
The problem with abrahamic religions is they treat their moral systems like theyre absolutes, but the mind represents morality based on its internalized model of how the world works which is flexible
These faiths make their morals absolute by imposing absolute consequences for following or disobeying them
But this leaves you open to stress you can’t really skillfully deal with when your worldview is challenged, because an absolute is absolute it has no justification by definition
That can manifest as anger for having your belief disrespected
Abrahamic religions are relatively crude spiritual mechanisms that seem more about penning in the ego self and keeping it docile and obedient than actually freeing it from its suffering, from this perspective .

Ultimately it’s a kindness, it’s compatible with capitalism, so it can continue to provide people comfort without threatening to be stamped out while at the same time being a tool of power due to its potential for control. It’s like a strained middle ground between the absolute control that power would like to have over people and the absolute freedom of more refined terracore spirituality.
