Dark Ferries - Splinterlands Art Contest SPT W-336, Digital Art

Hello everyone! It's a pleasure to reconnect with you and welcome you to a new post. Today I'm excited to share my latest work, which I created for the @splinterlands art contest, issue #336. This time I decided to draw inspiration from one of the most intriguing characters in the game: Dark Ferries, who reminds me of Charon, the ferryman who carried the dead across the River Styx. Well, after a little research on this card, I can tell you that the Dark Ferries of Mortis are well known in the Splinterlands, as they transport both Dark Eternals and the living. The vessels cannot approach the shores of Mortis except at the port of Galzur, so they must ferry the boat's passengers to the shore, even the living who wish to visit Beluroc. Those who have traveled frequently advise newcomers to avoid looking into the Ferries' hypnotic eyes. Although it's tempting and secrets can be revealed, there's a fine line between knowledge and madness. Furthermore, the Ferries are known to be unresponsive to the Dark Lord and possess unusual combat abilities that they employ effectively in tournaments. Throughout this post, I'll give you a glimpse into my creative process, from initial ideas to final illustration. I hope you enjoy this tour as much as I enjoyed creating it. ¡Hola a todos! Es un placer volver a conectarme con ustedes y darles la bienvenida a una nueva publicación. Hoy estoy emocionada de compartir mi más reciente obra, que he creado para el concurso de arte de @splinterlands, número 336. Esta vez decidí inspirarme en uno de los personajes más intrigantes del juego: Dark Ferries, quien me hace recordar a Caronte, el barquero que llevaba a los muertos a través del rio Estigia. Bueno investigando un poco de esta carta les puedo decir que Los Ferries Oscuros de Mortis son bien conocidos en la Splinterlands, ya que transportan tanto a Oscuros Eternos como a vivos. Las embarcaciones no pueden acercarse a las costas de Mortis, salvo en el puerto de Galzur, por lo que deben llevar a los pasajeros del barco a la orilla, incluso a los vivos que desean visitar Beluroc. Quienes han viajado frecuentemente aconsejan a los novatos evitar mirar a los ojos hipnóticos de los Ferries. Aunque es tentador y se pueden desvelar secretos, hay una fina línea entre el conocimiento y la locura. Además, se sabe que los Ferries no responden al Señor de la Oscuridad, y poseen habilidades de combate inusuales que emplean eficazmente en torneos. Todo el arte digital que he realizado para esta ilustración fue creado utilizando FireAlpaca, un software de dibujo que ofrece una versión gratuita y que resulta ser una herramienta muy versátil para artistas digitales.
El proceso creativo comenzó con un boceto inicial en el que plasmé mis ideas sobre el personaje de Dark Ferries. Una vez que estuve satisfecha con la composición, procedí a realizar el delineado, asegurándome de capturar todos los detalles que hacen a este personaje tan singular.
A continuación, pasé a la fase de coloración. Comencé aplicando color primeramente Dark Ferries y su barca, luego al agua, cielo y orillas del rio. Para darle más profundidad a la ilustración, trabajé en las sombras y las zonas iluminadas utilizando un pincel de acuarela, lo que permitió que los colores se fundieran de manera natural y fluida.
Este viaje creativo ha sido muy gratificante, y estoy entusiasmada por compartir el resultado final con todos ustedes. ¡Espero que lo disfruten!
All the digital art I created for this illustration was created using FireAlpaca, a drawing software that offers a free version and is a very versatile tool for digital artists.
The creative process began with an initial sketch in which I captured my ideas for the character of Dark Ferries. Once I was satisfied with the composition, I proceeded to outline the artwork, making sure to capture all the details that make this character so unique.
Next, I moved on to the coloring phase. I began by first applying color to Dark Ferries and his boat, then to the water, sky, and riverbanks. To give the illustration more depth, I worked in the shadows and highlights using a watercolor brush, which allowed the colors to blend naturally and fluidly.
This creative journey has been very rewarding, and I'm excited to share the final result with all of you. I hope you enjoy it!
