A tribute to Flesh Golem at Glam Rocker Jewelry / Un homenaje a FLESH GOLEM en Bisutería GLAM ROCKERA

Earrings are an accessory that can completely change the vibe of an outfit, giving it the essence we desire, whether subtle, eye-catching, rocker, very discreet, elegant, disruptive, etc. Personally, it's an accessory I always wear.

Today I had the challenge of creating an accessory inspired by FLESH GOLEM, a character from Splinterlands, and this challenge was proposed to me by @holoz0r in a comment on my post Thunderbird-inspired Earrings. I confess that at first, I was somewhat intimidated by this character with such a powerful image; I didn't know where to start. However, once I started my creative process I couldn't stop thinking about beautiful designs and layouts with their color palette and features.

As you can see in the image, Flesh Golem is quite intimidating with his body size and attitude. He looks like he could do a lot of damage. At first, it wasn't inspiring to create accessories for women. But then I noticed his beautiful color palette and the black stitching on his ripped clothing, so I took those elements and looked for the materials I had available to begin designing and creating, also considering that I wanted the earrings to have a lot of presence and character.

In the process, I designed two earring models, with a GLAM-ROCKER and somewhat '80s style, but many more designs and possibilities remained in my mind, inspired by this big guy, which I now adore. I used the materials I had at my disposal, and I liked the end result so much that I really wanted to recreate them in other materials. But I loved these first designs, or prototypes, so to speak.

En la cartulina metalizada dorada, corté un tramo central del triángulo, y lo repetí teniendo el cuidado de que fuesen en espejo, es decir que ese tramo girara en su ubicación, esto para que visualmente tuviesen más movimiento e interés el diseño, uno para el lado izquierdo y otro al derecho.

I placed a small drop of liquid silicone on the shapes I made earlier to secure them and prevent them from moving in the next step.

Using a needle and black thread, I stitched around the gold cardstock to secure it to the beige foam base. This stitching didn't have to be perfect, as it recreates the seams on Flesh Golem's ripped suit.

To continue representing the FLESH GOLEM color palette, I used purple foam and black cardstock. I cut shapes from both to give the triangles more interest and avoid leaving any empty spaces. I glued them together with liquid silicone.

I used some earring bases I had stored away from practice sessions with the Wire Wrap Technique. I thought they were perfect for this design because they would add more shine and a glamorous touch.

I punched a hole in the top center of each triangle, opened a ring in square one, and placed the earring base on it, then closed the rings.

The photos really don't do justice to how beautiful the earrings look with that range of strong colors on the neutral beige base. The black stitching integrates the elements very well and gives them a lot of personality.

Thinking about the design of the earrings and playing with shapes and the elements themselves, another idea came to me, and I used earring hooks for these earrings, creating a different look.

As you can see, these two pairs of earrings are beautiful. On the cover, I used a Canva Pro model to show them off, and I loved how they looked. I achieved exactly the GLAM-ROCKER-80S style, but with a modern personality. They look beautiful, and as you can see, they really have all the personality of our strongman FLESH GOLEM.

For me, it was an opportunity to activate my creativity and pay more attention to detail. It's an enriching process that definitely helps me grow and advance as a Crafts and Jewelry Content Creator.
