Pembrook Nymph
Hey everyone! Nite morning 👋 How are you doing? I’m here
I wanted to take a moment to share my entry for this week’s Splinterlands contest. I went with Pembrook Nymph and even though it’s not super fancy or epic, I really enjoyed making it and wanted to show it here.

I did this in Photoshop, just for this piece, and part of it I actually made during a Blaze stream. It was fun showing some of the process live and chatting with you while I worked. Doing something live feels different because people’s comments make you notice little things you might not see on your own. That part of the process was really entertaining and motivated me to keep going even though I wasn’t fully focused.

This is the character I have taken as a reference for this week.
I had to pause the drawing for a bit because I wasn’t feeling too great. Sometimes it happens, you get tired, your energy is low, or you just aren’t feeling it. I’ve learned that it’s okay to stop when you need to. Taking a break actually helped me a lot with this piece because when I came back, I could see it with fresh eyes and focus on details I didn’t like before. Sometimes pushing too hard just makes you overthink everything and lose the fun.

This drawing isn’t huge or extremely detailed but that’s fine. I just wanted something I could enjoy making without stressing too much. I wanted it to be clear, neat, and pleasant to look at without overthinking every line. Simple things often work better, especially when it’s a weekly contest and time is limited. For me, the important thing is enjoying it and sharing it, not creating a perfect piece every time.

One of the things I liked most was experimenting with colors and small details. I tried soft shadows, subtle highlights, and textures to make it feel a bit more alive. I enjoy that trial and error process where you just test things until something works. It’s not always perfect but learning while doing it is the fun part. Even if I don’t win, looking back and thinking “I like how this turned out” is worth it.

The best part of these contests is being part of the community. It’s super fun to see other people’s entries and how each person interprets the same character differently. You notice the different styles, approaches, and small details that stand out, and that inspires you to try new things. Joining these contests is a mix of sharing your work and getting inspired by others. Even if your piece is small, it feels great to see how it fits with everyone else’s work.

I also enjoy the process itself, not just the final result. Sitting down in Photoshop, choosing colors, trying details, all of that is relaxing in a way. That’s why I keep joining these weekly contests. It becomes a little creative routine. The drawing doesn’t need to be perfect, the important thing is showing up and doing something. The more casual you take it, the more fun it becomes. That’s why I wanted to share this version of Pembrook Nymph. It’s not perfect, but it’s mine and I made it with care.

Even though it’s a casual drawing, I still feel proud finishing it and sending it in. Seeing it all together is satisfying, even if there are tiny things I would tweak if I had more time. Part of the fun is knowing next week there will be another character and another chance to try new things. That weekly rhythm really keeps me motivated and helps you not obsess over one drawing. There’s always something new coming up.

So yeah, here’s my Pembrook Nymph for this week’s contest. It’s nothing crazy, but I had fun making it and wanted to share it with you all.
Thank you very much for taking the time to view my work.
Oh, and one more thing before I wrap up...

A while ago I was looking for this little shark you see down here 🦈. It’s really special to me. I won it a long time ago here, n it was done by a person many years ago but also I consider a GREAT GREAT GREAT FRIEND now n who does amazing work , very talented🤗.
I thought I had lost it , I was very sad… but noooo! I got it back! Yes ! He found n sent it to me again, and I’m so happy to have it with me once more.
So from now on, this shark will be keeping me company 💙
