Johnny Depp's NFT Collection "Never Fear Truth" Pumps, as He Wins Defamation Law Suit Against His Ex-Wife Amber Heard

They say, "there is no such thing as bad publicity". And that may be is the case for the recent Johnny Depp defamation suit against his ex-wife Amber Heard and the counter suit by Amber. Johnny Depp's NFT collection saw a jump in price as the publicly televised trail ended up Johnny collectivity winning.

"Never Fear Truth" collection features 3,850 generated art NFTs created by Johnny Depp and were minted on Ethereum. "Never Fear Truth NFTs" feature figures; friends or heroes, that Johnny have know well and inspired him. The collection also includes 607 images of Depp himself and famous celebrities like Heath Ledger, Tim Burton, River Phoenix, Elizabeth Taylor, Al Pacino, and Hunter S. Thompson.

Depps NFTs haven't seen much traction till last month. But after the televised defamation trial "Never Fear Truth" saw a heavy spike in floor price, peaking as high as 1.64 ETH and last 7 days sales volume went as high as $352k. Current floor price is 0.38 Eth as per data by OpenSea.

Johnny Depp is not the first controversial celebrity that have entered the NFT space. Back in September Lindsay Lohan launched an NFT of her canine fursona, but was heavily criticized by many for lack of authenticity in representation. Same is the case with rapper turned actor Ice-T NFT collection launched with Niftify. Ice-T 1992 music album Body Count was a national controversy due to protest song Cop Killer.

Whereas Depp may not be as controversial as many celebrities who previously entered NFT space, but most of them have faced severe criticism from art community as a mean of cash grab and environmental concerns of being on proof of work based blockchains like Ethereum.
