My Splinterlands Journey Begins – A New Adventure on Hive's Battlegrounds
Hey Splinterland Warlords!
An epic game built on the blockchain-Splinterland, has been an eye catcher over the past few months, I had the desire to get onboard but the bold step to bring that to life was the problem. So occupied with life activities. I remember some few months ago I tried getting onboard but got stacked along the line. I got frustrated and gave up. But over the weekend, got onto Leofinance and saw a couple of these related posts on SPLINTERLAND Games and the desire arouse again. “I must get it done” I said boldly.
I quickly hit up on my good friend @abu78. Wasn’t going to take any chances this time round. It must be done at all cost. And the best way to get that done is to get support from someone who is a guru. I have been seeing posts of his and got convinced that he could be of great help to my new found interest. The game seems to be captivating. looking at how good he is on the battleground: always victories in battles; "flowless victory" as he always say. That gave me a greater urge to reach out to him for help and assistance. Which turned out to be the biggest success story ever!!!! Just kidding. Lol. But fortunately, it got done. Was very happy, just that it took us some time cause of some few obstacles.
I have been exploring web3 platforms for a while now and the idea of owning a digital NFT that is an in-game asset for battling real players and earning digital assets as reward was not a bad idea. I felt like jumping on to see how I can harness this great opportunity. I guess I’m a bit late cause Splinterland has been here for a while yet that’s not a hindrance for me, what matters is taking the bold step and getting started, then gradually make my way to the top with consistency, resilience, hard work and dedication.
So I took the plunge and got on board using Hive Keychain through the link I got from @abu78. Then I had to get the account activated by acquiring the spellbook. Mexc exchange is what I have been using for a while now so I got some dollars up there and bought some hive worth $11.00 the account activation.

Initially, had issues with the Mexc exchange account cause the Google Authenticator wasn’t picking. It kept declining my codes. I gave it sometime but it still persisted so I had to found another way out. Then I quickly unlinked it (The Google Authenticator). This got my account blocked for 24 hours. So, I had to wait for while to be able to activate my Splinterland Account since the funds for buying the spellbook is locked up.

Finally, got access to the ranked battles, daily quests and many more to get on with my first battle. That’s where all the problem started from. Checked out the guidelines on @leofinance to get myself more familiarized with the game. Got access to some external materials to top-up. Tones of them to choose from on various social medias. Gave it sometime and then everything made so much sense. Splinterland games are won in the planning room. The best combo always wins. It’s a strategic war game hence I gave it more time to learn few skills on battles of wars. This really sharpened my skills on battle and how to make the very best of selection for the war.
It felt a bit overwhelming at first. So many cards to choose from, elements, monsters and summoners and all the rules that comes with it. So, I just decided to go into the training room and practice for a while before I go unto the main stage for battle. It all made sense after a few matches. I choose the beginner level. Lol. I didn’t want to kill my morale so soon, before the showdown.
I did experiments with the Fire and Life Splinters. Tried to understand the logic behind the mana caps, together with the rule sets and how they affect the strategies on battle ground. It turned out that my favorite cards include Living Lava: Great tank with Shields in low Mana battles, Divine Healer: Lifesaver in Life-based setups, and Serpentine Spy which comes with the Opportunity abilities.
Still experimenting the rest especially, the Abilities, Sneak Attacks, Flying, Opportunities etc. In fact, I’m already hooked to Splinterlands. I like the true ownership of cards: the ability to be able to rent particular cards for battle etc. Earn from the game and the community vibes that comes with it. From the community to Discord and to Hive, where players share ideas and strategies which is very helpful.
The goal and aim to enjoy this game and well as promoting to friends. Not forgetting my personal advancement. There is a great deal in climbing the ladder to the top. Will practice more and then get into real battle to conquer my way to the top. Easier said than done but that will be my aim and target on Splinterlands as long as it exists.
That’s all for now. But I will be updating the community on any new discoveries soon. Still practicing and will soon get into battle to see how things turn out. Thanks for the warm welcomes in advance. Hope to smash some of you guys in battle grounds. Lol. Catch ya’ll later.
