100% Free-To-Play Format Voting Poll Over : What This Means For A Newbie

Joined Splinterlands at the best time I guess looking at how exciting news and new updates keeps popping up. Making me feel like I have entered something bigger than just a gaming world. If you have followed my blog for just these past few days, you probably aware of my grand entering into Splinterland- Just last week there about. And I am already loving it here. Took my first step into the war zone and bought the Spellbook then went straight into the practice zone to test the waters before the main event begins.

You know as the saying goes, “Practice makes Perfect”. No doubt about that. So I tried my hands on couple of staffs to get familiarized with the new world I found myself in. Hit my head around a couple of times and still hitting hard, but its all part of the learning process. Still learning the ropes of elemental splinters, mana caps, and deck building until perfection is achieved.

Now as if the timing couldn’t be any perfect than I could ever thought. Splinterland about to launch something new which will not only benefit everyone but newcomers the most which of course I am one. Super excited because this will reshape the future for newbies like me and other fellow newbies.

What is this new initiative all about?

Hundred Percent (100%)-Free-To-Play format incoming!! No Spellbook required for access to game play mode activation, no rentals and obviously no investment into buying of cards. This announce got me so excited and hopeful for something super cool. This will be a great relieve to us(New Players), cause we will be able to practice and have full access to splinterland at the very onset and this will play a very huge role in players progress moving forward.

What will make this mode so important?

· Splinterlands will be fully accessible to everyone without any investment.

· No or little blockchain knowledge needed to be able to play.

· Players will be able to learn, and play without risking anything.

· Only fun!!

For a beginner like me who has already bought the Spellbook and even rented some card packs just today worth about 667 Credits for practice, this new free to play will open up a whole new layer for opportunities to practice on a broader scale. This will be absolutely pressure-free cause there is no fear of card expirations. We will be able to test strategies, play styles and team compositions before hitting the grand stage. And this will be under no pressure at all since there won’t be any rental timer or DEC Costs involved. More comfortability in experimentations, isn’t that good news?!!

With that we will be able to have more exposure to the game and learn by exploring different Splinters and elements to discover which ones suits our play style instead of guessing what cards to buy or rent. This will help us (me in particular) gain clarity and avoid waste of time and resources.

Then onboarding of friends won’t be a big deal after all, because there is no upfront payment required. Splinterland users and other game lovers can start playing instantly. This will even keep the interest.

Hence, there is no fear of losing value as a result of card purchase involved in game currencies like Credits or DEC( ). Making room for play even in times of no funds. There is enough time to enjoy the game fully.

How all these will shape My Future Growth on Splinterlands

Consistency is assured since there will be enough room for practice and training even when there is break between rentals and buys. Which in the long run help us newbies gradually transition from a free player into fully equipped competitors at our own pace. The 100% Free-To-Play format will be a training ground, proving ground, and a launching pad all in one.

The Voting Poll

Voting Poll is currently over and by the look of this, the preferred name by majority vote is #Frontier. Best choice of name for this new format coming from the vote by the final say is in the hands of the team. They can choose to stay by that or change it, but i think the sellected name isnt bad at all. An opportunity for the community members to play a role in some governance decision making- A showcase of true decentralization. Splinterlands have done some good works there with the proposed choice of names. I am really impressed. I have voted and have made my choice.

The final choice of name will be welcomed and for sure no doubt that will be the best for the community. But whatever be the case, its clear that this initiative will be a core-pillar in splinterlands future. Splinterlands community has proven beyond doubt it's not just a blockchain gaming platform but a Player-First experience ecosystem.

As we all know It’s very intimidating to begin something new sometimes but this new Free-To-Play format will greatly lower the barriers, welcome more new players onboard and help most of us build confidence. There is this believe this move will give most beginners the tools to learn, compete and eventually thrive in the game itself. We all agree a Free-To-Play is exactly what Splinterlands probably needs to get to the next level in blockchain gaming.
